Title: Brentford on Tuesday
Post by: Rossi on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, 11:34:00
How many people are planning on going?
I'm probably gona drive to Swindon with a couple of mates as I haven't got anything else to do and I finish work early.  Is it likely that the townend will be closed? If so where is the best place to sit for a decent atmosphere?  I usually sit to the left of centre in the Nationwide but the atmosphere isn't great because only 2 or 3 people sing.
Suggestions appreciated :)

We definitely owe them a beating for that goal in the 3-0 drubbing where their guy ran from his own area with the ball.

I reckon Wise should play and break some legs (Brentford legs that is)

Will, Will, Will you do make me laugh.  Whilst the rest of us wept through the dark days you sat at home attending only couple of games last year.  That will be 1 of the only games I miss this year we shall keep score see who attends the most.  Couldnt believe when you asked me what squad number Fjortoft had this year and asked for directions to the ground I know it had been a while but come on.  Were level for this year anyhow as I attended reserve game the other night now that was a way to spend a Tuesday night  :D.

Anyhow now I have finished acting petty and childish I will be there on Tuesday night I am actually excited about the Johnstones Paint trophy (LDV) what a difference a season makes.

Just been to get my ticket for Brentford, in the Arkells, and the bloke in the ticket office said that they have cordoned even more of the seats off by the away fans. Something about some trouble in the Barnet game and a steward breaking their arm. He went on to say it is only the back four rows, so just how much of the area is off-limits I have no idea.

Certainly know how to spoil our funs don't they? :x

Title: Brentford on Tuesday
Post by: Luci on Friday, August 18, 2006, 12:12:05
At the Rochdale game the back section was netted off and steward was looking @ seat numbers on tickets.

Simple solution, put the away fans in the bank FFS.  I like nothing better than watching a load of miserable away fans stood on the bank getting drenched and blown away by the wind and rain.

Havent we all been over this before?  Opening the bank unnecessarilly costs more money on turnstile operators, food outlets and stewards.  Its obvious.  If they don't need to open it, they won't, to spare the club the cash.

Whether we have "been over this before" wasn't actually my point.

Opening the bank would solve the problem of trouble and also we wouldn't require extra stewarding in the arkells surely?

I sit in the Arkells as I get free tickets and the only part of that stand that has a bit of life is the bit next to the away fans.

Not everyone can afford to go home AND away every week actually.

Being such a northern league its fucking expensive. I get the impression you dont travel away. If you do, you'll understand the costs. Hartlepool and Darlo you're talking £50 each game in expenses.

So what if I dont pay for home games now and again? I pay for cup games, paid for pre-season friendlies, and support the team away as well as home plus buying the merchandise they sell!

Now try and tell me I don't give any cash to the club.....

Title: Brentford on Tuesday

don't like to leave Roberts out personally, but think given the fact we've got 5 strikers knocking about he'll give them a chabce.

Monkhouse's injury could cause Wise to change his plans. He can't really rest Vincent now unless he's prepared to put both CCP and Nicho in. Mind you, does Vincent need to rest? He never gets over the half way line! If Vincent stays, Nicho will replace Williams.

Pook will come back in and there should be a start for Lukas.

Townend is not my style. I prefer totty watch in the arkells.

A bit of a stint in the TE, especially if there are numbers would give you a better schooling in how to deal with bundles in clubs....maintaining equilibrium , when a goal is scored, when bodies are flying around,  is a useful skill.

my prediction for the team...

Smith

Smith
Ifil
Nicholas
Vincent

Shakes
Weston
Brown

Brownlie

Jutkiewicz
Roberts

I started reading the line-up in my head, then re-read it to the rhythm of Pew, Pew, Barney, McGrew...etc :D . Which was fine till I got to Brown :?
