ok, the reason im doing this is because i think the 21 units max weekly intake for a man is way too low. considering that a pint of stella is 3 units, that means the kill joys at the department of 'keep me in a job by giving me boring and crap tasks' would only allow 7 pints of stella 2b consumed by a man each week. 8 is far too dangerous!!!! to me, thats sounds ridiculous. so, heres the question: on average, how many units of alcohol do you consume each week? if your thinking, who the fuck are you?! i dont count the units i drink per week! heres some guidelines:

1 pint of stella = 3 units
1 bottle wine = 9
25ml shot of vodka (or most spirits) = 1
1 small glass of wine = 1
1 smirnoff ice = 1.4

remember this is only a guess!

most of the time i only drink on saturdays and sundays around 40+ units ish.
the last 2 weeks i've been off work and have drank everyday i'm 80+ easily :oops:

under age is one reason, but not really cause if i do go out i get a drink anyway. Not really fussed about drinking really, do every now and then, but not very often.

To be fair as a red wine drinker a lot of bottles are 13% 13.5% and higher, some even 14.5%........ Therefore FB has a point saying some are higher than 9 units?

Oh and I would say I have between 18-25 a week. (Units not bottles mind)

Going back about 18 months I probably drank 6-7 pints most nights, more at weekends, that's a lot of units. :twisted:

I'm a lot better now, only go to the pub once a week (if that) and tend to drink no more than 4-5 pints or share a bottle of red wine  :o

I am afraid I usually drink eight cans at home most nights, unless I go to the pub, then its usually about six because of the difference in price.  I finds I can't sleep if I don't drink.  I think I'm in the 80+ at the moment. Oops.

70-80 for me at a guess. I have 5 or 6 pints on a thursday, 7 or 8 plus spirits on Fridays, and on a Saturday like last week anything between 8-12 pints plus spirits. Oh, and a bottle of lager with tea most evenings.

I wouldn't say so, I just enjoy a drink.  I do have days when I won't have a drink, just to prove to myself that I still can go without.  Also, I'm looking for a job and moving to a new place with just my missus, rather than having mates around all the time, so will probably cut back when this happens.  Will probably end up drinking more wine with my missus. (I'm a romantic at heart, but don't tell anyone!)

On a night out I'll have over 21 units. Trouble is I rarely go out anymore. I miss my 1st year days of uni, those were bestest, I would drink well over 100 units in a week. Couldn't manage that now.

Oh yeah on the alchohol thing......Before I went to club ice last night I downed 3 big shots of sambuca (which I'd like to point out is 40 % yes 40%) and I was pissed for about 2 hours and then I was sober again. Was quite weird. I don't like sambuca but I'll drink it.

Probably 50-60, more on big weekends.

Off on a lads holiday to Newquay for a week next week so it will probably be 40+ a day  :?
