Title: late night thread
Post by: oxford_fan on Thursday, July 20, 2006, 21:13:53
tis a bit early but get involved flammable ben, you are the essence of such topics.

i'm drinking the red wine left over from my bolognese, earilier i had my medium sweet cider and some grolsch. i think i'm going to have a bad head tomorrow after this lot. the cider and red wine are gone now though so its just beer left.

in other matters i'm 3/4 way through a richard prior set, he's probably the funniest man i've ever heard. taken a break for big brother.

What topping please?

I had a Tesco meat feast special for my tea.  6.75/10

Quality fresh base but let seriously down by lack of meat and as always inadequate cheese.

Can't argue at £4 for 2 though

Quote

The ceremony begins when the platform party enters the ceremony hall. The Presiding Officer will declare the Congregation open, and the Head of School will approach the lectern. At the appropriate moment, the marshal will ask your row to stand for the presentation and guide you to the Graduands' Marshal near the platform area. Your name will be chacked again.

When the Head of School calls your name, walk across the platform to stand in front of the Presiding Officer. He will then place his hands over your hands (palms pressed together), and you should bow. Leave the platform on the far side, where you will be presented with a folder containing either your award certificate or a letter confirming it has been/will be posted to you...
The Marshal will then guide you back to your seat.

Like I'm gonna remember all that. I'll just copy everyone else  8)

I went to watch Thank You For Smoking tonight, quite a clever comedy and katie holmes getting nailed, although she unfortunately kept her clothes on.

I had a pint of Peroni in a poncey little pub, and I've just opened a bottle of pretty lethal cider left from last night.

I'm in the process of buying a chalet near Newquay, think I might go and live there for part of the winter so that no one can bother me 8)   I wonder how dead it gets at that time of year.

VERY. well pozeath just up the coast, probably second best surf spot in cornwall, has about 6 OAP's post september apart from the inbred yokels.

newquay might be slightly better but its a bit townie with all those superclubs

Nah, it's an investment as I can't raise the money to buy a house through auction to renovate.  It could potentially pay for itself, although it won't but alot of the cost will be offset.  Plus my sister lives down that way(watch it :D  ) and she's been pestering me to move there, which is more than impractical seeing as I work all over the UK.

Did you finish The Plot Against America ?

Sounds good.  I'm a man of extremes, I like the liveliness of central London just as much as I like complete serenity.

Id like to live in a house at the bottom of a hill leading on to a secluded Cornish Beach. Its my lottery dream :D

Yes I did it was a quality read really enjoyed it ibve just started the other one but have left it at work so will read it over the weekend probably.

Post by: oxford_fan on Thursday, July 20, 2006, 23:41:52
if you want serenity and a good investment polzeath would be worth a look - 30 mins up the coast and without the pikeyness of newquay. its expensive though, but always rising, my mates dad bought a run down bungalow with sea view for £400k. property gets snapped up quick though.

Post by: Amir on Thursday, July 20, 2006, 23:50:03
The place I'm getting is actually in Padstow, which I'm assuming is pretty close to Polzeath.  I have a friend who's living in Polzeath at the moment, but he's in a state of mental depression and doesn't seem to want to see me because of the trauma we suffered together.  Fucking pussy :D

Yeovil, I've got more books for you if you want them after that, as long as you promise to pass them on to someone who you think will enjoy them.  I don't like hanging onto books.

yep padstow is just round the corner, sounds good. you'd be able to get ridiculous rent in the summer if you're not living there.
