i burnt myself badly at ciren and my face is peeling, it fucking hurts and i look like peter schmeichel's fat son.

i've been using aftersun but it's doing fuck all, never been burnt before so haven't a clue what to do and whether my skin should be peeling off like i've got leprosy or not.

(i'm completely at fault for not wearing sun cream or a hat. i'm thick. but it's lady's fault for wanting to stand behind the goal)

be prepared for days of suffering.aftersun does fuck all when you're burned.been there myself so just have to grin and bear it.

This is good - first of all blame a female - it is always their fault even if they don't realise at the time.  We men are too busy dealing with world crises to worry about tan lotion.

Other tip - don't go back into sun until your head has stopped doing its shredded wheat impression.

Also - don't cry even if it really hurts

You need a woman's help with skincare. Walrus or Sussex should be able to sort you out  :wink:

You need some hydro cortisone cream. May need to ask the pharmacist for it. You can buy it over the counter freely in the USA, but most pharmacists in the UK ask you where you want to apply it as they don't recommend it's use on the face. I was actually instructed by my GP to use it on my face and I've never had a problem (I was already ugly). If they ask, just tell them you're going to use it on your hands or something.

you're not supposed to use 1% hc on your face, only 0.5% which you can only get on prescription iirc. working in a pharmacy = useless knowledge 8)

You should be able to buy 1% hc over the counter and use it on your face. Not recommended by UK pharmacists though for some reason, but it does the trick. (I think the preparation contains a very minute amount of steroids which gives the BMA the heebie jeebies, hence the restrictions imposed on pharmacy staff).

In response to your question.... ask yourself, what do you do with all burns???

- put them under cold running water!

I've done the same and trust me it works! Run in under for about 15 mins or so. (have a cold shower?!?)

This should heal it, all the creams etc are bullshit!

Use some Aloe Vera to take away the sting.

Skinsure might actually work thinking about it. It's non-perscription and if you read the FAQ it says it's effective for sunburn. I'm using it on my elbows at the moment as I have really dry/broken and itchy skin. It's probably an infection but I can't be fucked to go to the doctors. This stuff works though.

Drink some beer, that will make you feel better  :P

I got sunburnt in Turkey last week, fucking hurt for days. Fell asleep by the pool :roll:

Get  the 1% HC and dilute it with an equal amount of bog standard after sun to make it 0.5% ... or is that not how the figures work? Failing that use Vaseline :shock:  Intensive Care.
