Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: PHIL!!!! on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 20:51:07 I liked the way Wise chose to play with a more defensive side in the first half, to a more attacking side in the second. For instance, we had a strong backline in the first, but in the second it was a less experienced side, but the attacking line up was a lot stronger.
Now combine the two (the first half defence and second half attackers) and we have a very good team in the making :D Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: PHIL!!!! on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 20:53:35 But i'd like to see more of Rodrigo. Where does he play? Seemed to play a more central midfield role, according to the team line up, but heard from a few people on 'thisis' that he's a striker......
Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: DV on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 22:05:27 Just got back
Phil Smith the first half keeper looked alright, didnt really have much to do to be honest. Jack Smith looked a little out of sorts Ifil...just seemed like Ifil Williams looked well off the pace I thought, as did Vicent Brown played well on the right The trailist in central midfield looked alright, number 4 the black dude Holgate played alongside him in the middle, lots of hussle and bussle not much else Rodrigo, good touch, bit of skill....struggled to get past his man, good corner though Onijibuie looked alright, goes to ground a bit to easy but worked the channels well and put in some decent crosses Brownlie didnt really do anything second half Stewart looked dodgy Wells is not a right back Henry did ok CCP was well out of sorts and his first three contributiones consisted of missing the ball and kicking a FGR player Nicho started off pants till some guy in the crowd had a massive go at him and blamed him for the goal, then he did alright Shakes looked decent, broke alot through the middle. Even but in a decent cross  Weston wanted him to see the ball more.....looked good when he had, lots of energy one good tackle after some fgr player had skinned Nicho and megged Charlie. Used the ball well, looks a very bright prospect Pook, nothing new with him Monkhouse, didnt really get into the game. Seemed happy to keep crossing it in first time rather than run at his man Peacock usual peacock performance, got credited with the own goal and started cheering Roberts bloody hell, best new signing....looked much much much much fitter, not fat at all...full of running, good link up play....even played with his back to goal and held the ball up, scored a decent goal as well....and more importantly looked really up for it FGRs second goal was 10yards offside but the linesman was too fat and well behind play Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: DV on Wednesday, July 12, 2006, 22:06:17 Quote from: "PHIL!!!!" But i'd like to see more of Rodrigo. Where does he play? oh and poyet looked like a pornstar in his brown suit Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: Nomoreheroes on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 01:56:35 Dracula comes from Transylvania, Stevie Nicks talks about cleptomania, Johnny looked out of his bedroom window and shouted to his Mum..............

NMH 'aka HMHB' Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: fatbury on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 07:24:12 wasnt that impressed overall .. particularly as FG didnt have a very strong side out either - HOWEVER we did look fairly organised tho the quality of the players themselves was poor
The 2 keepers werent good enough - Crawleys Smith looked VERY BAD on crosses Williams and Vincent looked off the pace Most of the new men didnt do very much to warrant a place in the team except maybe for Weston who showed a bit of potential Only man who impressed really was Roberts ... looked fitter, sharper and more determined than ive ever seen him .. heres hoping he keeps it up Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: larwood on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 07:25:28 In the first half i thought we looked average really,Fola looked ok,Williams looked tired :) The second half was a lot more promising,i know it was only a pointless friendly against FGR and Gary Coleman  but i thought we looked good going forward especially,Monkhouse,Weston, the Cock all looked impressive, but the stand out was Roberts who looked like he was really up for it,if he stays injury free,i reckon he could be a big player for us this coming season :D
Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: larwood on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 07:27:08 Quote oh and poyet looked like a pornstar in his brown suit  How dare you Maccca!!!! Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: Bennett on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 07:30:38 i think monkhouse worked well with roberts moving out into the channels. i'm a bit concerned that our midfield seems a bit unbalanced, but we have whalley and potentially gurns to sort that out
i for one am encouraged on the back of that performance and look forward to us romping the league 8) Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: quinnismyhero on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 07:30:51 Highlights for me:
Roberts Peacock Weston Brown Monkhouse (parts) Jack Smith (parts) Onibuje (parts) Gonna cost FGR a fortune in footballs with those stands! Tidy ground but I think they gotr caught out by the crowd size (1400?) as queues for entry and food were huge. Good evenings entertainment tho' Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: Luci on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 07:59:22 Just wondering, how many Swindon fans do you think were there? Im pretty sure we were in the majority, possible 800 maybe more?
CCP looked like he had been spending too much time with Gurns looking at some of the challenges he put in, (and got away with I hasten to add)! Shakes did better than expected, some good runs and even managed to cross sucessfully! Brown did well on the wing, think he will be key player next season. Oh, and on the official site you can see Blackcurrant :D Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: McLovin on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 08:01:38 Fola was much better than i expected
The black number 4 looked quite handy Rodrigo looked okay, and was at least willing to battle back for the ball after he lost it On this display, i'd be worried about Ifil and Williams paired together, but i'm not reading too much into it right now Brownlie didn't look worth persuing (give him a couple more games to see if that changes though) Can't remember much else. Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: red macca on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 08:08:18 oh and arnold from different strokes played up front for fgr

Title: Swindon teams to face Forest Green Post by: Cookie on Thursday, July 13, 2006, 08:28:15 I think Rodrigo looked promising and Curtis Weston was good in the centre of midfield. I thought the black bloke at number 4 in the first half was gash, he passed to FGR half the time.
