Title: Keith Barratt
Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Friday, February 4, 2005, 15:40:19
This is my fave TV show at the present time.

For those of you not familiar with this particular show, Keith Barratt is played by Rob Brydon he (He also did Marion and Geoff a couple of years ago).  It's a kind of spoof chat show where he talks to celebrity couples, ripping them apart in the nicest possible way.  It's probably no coincidence that one of the co-writers is Steve 'I'm Alan Partridge, Knowing me knowing you AHA!' Coogan.

Classic, understated, ironic, non-political British comedy.

And remember, as you go through life, it's just a bit of fun!

Thankyou for your time.

I don't know who's pn tonight.  Being a chat show (albeit a spoof) it's success does depend to a degree on the guests.

A couple of weeks ago for example, the guests were Lee 'Wife Beater' Chapman and Leslie Ash and I could barely look at the screen.  I mean, with all that plastic surgery she looks like something that might live underground in the woods.  (Poor love!)

Last week was Mr and Mrs Vinny Jones and it was funny as f**k!  She loved it.  I don't think Vinny got it though!

They are very good.   That was a good show. They have a new series starting on Channel 5 starting tonight I believe?

Wow! His missus looks fit! That's the worst mismatch since Paul Daniels and the lovely Debbie McGee!

I saw it once and thought "hmmm, Knowing Me Knowing You rip-off" and turned off. Didn't realise it was co-written by Steve Coogan though!

May watch it if I'm not being nerdy :o

I think Marion and Geoff was superb, original, sad but very very funny.  I think the chat show hasn't been as good, I've been a little disappointed by it all.  Think he should have expanded on the M&G theme, rather than go into chat shows.
