Shame isn't it. I said to a mate after we lost the football - "at least no one's died", but then he pointed out Fred Trueman had. Sad day all round really.

I'm old enough to recall Trueman as a player, although I only caught him at the tail end of his career....he was the superstar of cricket back then a bit like a Botham or Flintoff.

  I used to love his old fart commentary on TMS, although it came to grate with a lot of folk.....bit like Sir Geoffrey now.

I seem to remember him presenting some show in the 70's that was to do with pub games like bar billiards and table skittles?  Am I right?  

He always used to sign off with a "sithee" and a puff on his pipe.  Anybody remember the show?

I've seen clips of it,looked really funny in an unintentional sort of way :)

On Talksport, Hawksbee [sp] and Jacob's show had tapes of him doing his after dinner speeches,they always made me laugh out loud :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:
