Title: Security Tags
Post by: stfc_carver on Friday, May 26, 2006, 16:03:26
i bought a jacket today and every time i walked through a door of a different shop the alarm would go off. not until i got home did i find that there was a tag hidden in the inside of the jacket. Any ideas on how to get it off? dont say smashing it with a hammer. apparently it doesnt work.

Strong magnet will do the trick either that or wrap it in tinfoil to stop the alarms.

My secrity pass to get into the office does the same party trick in certain stores

I remember, years ago when I bought something, got back and realised that the security tag was still on it. It was one of the old style, with red ink inside it.

I was only young, so my Dad attempted to get it off, which he did eventually, after severely cutting his finger, and covering the kitchen in red ink.

That was also the first time I heard my Dad swear.

Being realistic though, if the alarm keeps going off you should know there's a tag still on there  :-))(

Sports Soccer in the outlet village are the worst offenders. They don't even have a security alarm!

So many people come into our shop and set the alarm off with their HMV or Virgin purchases, it was so annoying until I got moved to the back of the shop. Now I don't hear it

Ive had a couple that havent set off the alarms but i cant rip the tag off myself as the item would get covered in ink.

Not originally Cox. Malmesbury until I was 16, then Chippenham from 17 to 20 and Sussex for the last 12 years.

My dad still lives in Chippenham, so I go back there to visit.
