:D  Was hilarious. I kept panicking and getting the pedals mixed up. At one point I had to take over a man in a lorry and The car was not moving but the engine kept going vrrrrrrooooom vrrrooooooom. It was well scary. My instructor was sat there giggling and so was the man in the lorry. Oh well I'm sure I will get the hang of it soon. Apart from that he said I was quite good. I seen my friend and that was embarrassing.

I know that now  :D  I think I had a weird moment and tryed moving my foot from the clutch to the vrrrooom vrrroooom pedal.

I was allowed to get them mixed up  :D  First time driver and all that.

Can't remember mixing the pedals up. Most common mistakes for me when i first started were under/over revving and glancing down at the gearstick when changing gear, think those are all reasonably common when you first learn to drive.

But the clutch is on the left so you can use the brake or accelerator with your right foot at the same time. All makes sense to me.

Also if you get mixed up think ABC backwards. Clutch, Brake, Accelerator. I know a few people that remembered this way.

8)  Ah thanks si. Thats a good way of remembering it. I was quite nervous, so my mind kept going blank and I kept forgetting. I'll start thinking of the song 'ABC easy as 123'  :D

I remember my first lesson going really well and I was over-confident and fucked up lesson 2 badly. Concentrating too hard on where I was going and not paying any attention the the engine, got up to about 45 in 2nd (in a 1.6 306). Smoke eveywhere.   8)

I crashed twice doing lessons.

Once outside my house into a parked car (because my parents were sat at the end of the drive waiting to get in) and I kerbed it when I saw a girl I was having a date with after the lesson.I was a lady killer even then :mrgreen:

I failed and gave up by the way :D

Sounds like you got on ok. I remember being picked up from outside my work for my first lesson, and everyone came out to watch. I was so nervous, and juddered the car down the road! Got better though.

First car I drove had a 2.5 litre engine and it was really easy to drive, didn't need to be careful with the clutch or anything, then I moved to a 1.25 and had to be a lot smoother on the clutch, that took a bit of getting used too. Never had a problem with the order of the pedals though.

I know how to turn the engine on thanks  :D  first click - nothing, second click -lights, third click - engine vrooooooom. See I listen. Adjust seat, check your legs and arms are in the correct position for example you can reach the pedals/steering wheel without bending legs/arms, check mirrors, nothing coming - your off vrooooom  :D
