Think it should bring a bit of passion back to the club.  Good to see him playing as well.  Had a good game against Celtic just over a month ago for Coventry and could definately do a good job in Division 4 (League 2).  Would also like Poyet to pull on the boots as well but can't see that happening....  Wise for king, but not Andy King!! :king:

It's all done and dusted form what I gathered from Radio Swindon and Iffy has decided to leave. He was offered a junior position at the club but decided to go instead.

Great news, this really is the end of the King era!!

Time to move on and having a manager like Wise and Poyet in charge will only raise the profile of the club, which can only be a good thing.

I truly believe no one could of saved us last season after the way the players were left after king. Iffy tryed his best. He earned alot of respect from the players and from the majority of us fans. Everyone knows he loves this club. Iffy - your still a legend. Thankyou.

I think Reeves SHOULD go, don't get me wrong but if we are having a coaching clearout then it's only right to do it properly.  He has been a great servant of the club and I'm grateful for that but it's time to move on  - and it's painfully obvious his work as a defence coach was just not up to scratch.

Iffy has been treated disgustingly.

The BBC have just confirmed it on their website. Verbally agreed deals with both DW and Gus and contracts are now being drawn up as per their discussions.

Blimey, this has all come around bloody quick. To say I never saw this coming is an understatement.

A tinge of sadness for Iffy but to be completely honest, we had a squad that should have been just about good enough to keep us up. Granted he inherited a right mess from the AK era and I'm by no means blaming Iffy solely for our relegation. That said, the drop usually means someone's head in on the block. Bil and Mark D clearly feel that as we've hit rock botom, the time is right for a clean slate.

Well it's not the first time Swindon have made a mockery of the managerial appointment process.

I agree with you in the sense that it's obvious that Iffy thought he was staying but Sir Seton Wills is the man that has kept this club alive and I think if he doesn't want Iffy in the job then that's how it must be.

I've always said that I believed iffy should be given a chance in league 2 as it would be under different circumstances unlike the hard task of preventing a team from relegation which I think some of you mistake as a walk in the park. I also said that if the club decided to bring in another manager than thats fair enough and at the end of they day its all for the future of our club.

I know your happy, however taking the piss out of iffy whether your joking or not in my eyes is really tight and I think your showing your self up slightly. Show some respect.

I agree with Sade.  I too was happy for Iffy to have a season in league two, admittedly before I was aware that we could attract two figureheads that would raise the profile of this club significantly.

I still think Iffys move to Manager was under a lot of pressure and criticism, however he does deserve thanks and also credit for giving some of the youth teamers a chance that under Kingy, they probably wouldn't have got and giving more options and dimensions to the squad.  He did his best and  I couldn't question his commitment to the club.  Fingers crossed he will stay and continue working with Woan and the Youth teamers.

I just can't comprehend why everyone continued to sing the blokes praises after he relegated us.

He finished what King started and that means he's got to cop it the same way AK did.

You can't compare Iffy to King, there are far more factors involved such as structure of training, team motivation and whether the players we had could have kept us up despite the manager!

If by player motivation you mean taking them out on the piss then you're right.

And clearly the training worked miracles. Oh wait we're down.

I lost all faith in Iffy after knowing that he's quite happy for certain players to go out on the piss.

Would be a nice touch if he takes some of our younger players and helps them develop with first team football at a club like Swindon. I think it's wrong to appoint Wise, I really do. He has no knowledge of the lower leagues, he decks players for fun (that's hardly good for morale) and his abrasive style may be disliked by many players.

To be fair Iffy does know the lowest league  as he played for King at Mansfield when they got to the PO's, also he was with Udders when they came up via the PO's a couple of years ago.

fair point. i was thinking about the management side of things though.

 Think if you've played at that level, then you've a fair idea of the requirements, if you become a manager...obviously its not an exact match, but Iffy was definitely looking to build a big side for next season. Which is generally the first requirement of success in L2.

Lou Macari was interviewed on radio Swindon this morning saying how difficult Wise might find playing at this level rather than managing. Lou said that when he joined he was used to playing with a better quality of player and the move to playing with shite shocked him a bit. He said it will be best if Wise concentrates on the managerial side of things.

Personally I can't wait to see Wise with a town shirt on kicking the oppostision players in the middle of the park.
