:D  Davey B, I think its best I don't you my interview tips.

I must have had 20 interviews since the summer last year and never got the job in admin I wanted. My age and lack of experience is probably why cos I felt they all went really well  :(  College it is though!

Anyway good luck mate!  :D  Be confident and sshhhhhmile.

Dress smart.

Make eye contact with the person interviewing you.

Do research about your potential employer

Be polite and enthusiastic without going over the top.

Give yourself a second or two before you answer a question to give yourself time to think.  It may seem a long time when you try it, but it helps!

Don't be afraid to say you don't know the answer to a question or ask them to rephrase it, if it isn't clear what they are asking.

Do all that and Power and Devlin should give you the job.  I've seen the other candidates, you should do well.

ask dennis wise he seems to be doing well.

avoid masturbating during the interview. I'd advise knocking one out beforehand just to make sure.

be confident but not cocky, as said eye contact is key and dont mumble.

try not to bull shit too much as it leaves you open to being caught out

Make sure you've got a couple of questions lined up to ask them at the end.

Ask for a glass of water, if they then through you a curve ball you can take a sip and take time to deliberate your answer instead of blurting crap out or looking a bit dim.  Plus it makes you look slightly composed and calm.

Firm handshake as well still speaks volumes even with women.  If you shake someones hand like a limp wristed Barrymore you're starting off with a hill to climb.  Just don't fucking squeeze like a loon.

top tip, they always ask if you've got any questions yourself and it looks bad if you don't. just ask something about the job or firm which isn't obvious, even if you already know the answer.

teell them the turth that your a cunt who only wants the job becasue it pays more than your current one!

Have used that techniguqe in all 6 of my job interveiws six job interviews six job offers!

:D  When they asked me want some of my weak points were in my interviews, I said I was too much of a perfectionist. Maybe that was a really obvious thing to say I dunno, it was a fib anyway.

I had an interview today. I think it went quite well but it was muis informal which surprised me.

Someone there didn't know what 'the big four' meant and after several mentions of the big four waited to the assessors left the room and asked what the big four was. When I explained that it was the biggest four accounting firms: PWC, KPMG, Deloitte and Ernst and Young she said she'd never heard of those companies.

My tip is to definitely know some background of the industry and firm and relate questions to these topics.

was it a decent firm then if they were big4ing? my mate has interviews at KPMG, he's had to do tests and multiple interviews - all for a placement, not even a proper job!

I have an interview for the job in Luxemburg on saturday.

The job is in Luxemburg, or you have to have your interview in LB as some sort of test of determination?  8)

The job is in Luxemburg but the interview is in Edinburgh as the boss lives over her and comes back every weekend. Pretty handy really

Medium sized firm, but they are pushing for the top 10 in UK next year. I think they're about 12th atm.

I'm not a fan of this working malarky so my philosophy is to do something that I'll be reasonably good at and to earn as much money as possible. Accounting seems a good idea from that perspective.

Fancy doing my tax return then? My accountants a wanker and cost me 200 quid this year because the fuckwit didn't submit my return on time.  :twisted:

I qualified during France 98, bloody difficulty to study when there's footy on.

The money is crap when you study but gets better!  :mrgreen:

Hmm I was thinking about that earlier. Don't think I will as I may have to go to training things some weekends, but I'm planning to buy tickets for every game I can possibly get to.
