Meh. Moral outrage stories annoy me a bit. She seems quite happy. There's nothing to indicate that the baby won't get looked after, especially as the baby's grandmother seems quite supportive. Only thing is the smoking thing, but a lot of mothers who are a bit older than 11 do that.

Don't really see how I've got the right to go all preachy and say how alwful this is and a sign of declining country.

11 years old though! When I was that age it was football, football football. I didn't even think about girls. It just shows how times have changed. Society (sp) has changed. This wouldn't have been accepted years ago.

Its going to be tough on her. And personally, I think that her school life will be affected and by 13 she would've left school, be on benefits...

But then if you go further back in time (Middle Ages?) a lot of societies married their kids (esp. daughters) off at that kind of age.... Babies at 12 were not that uncommon!
Not that I think it's a good thing, mind you - think it's pretty nasty myself.

See you say this wouldn't have been accepted. This to me doesn't say it wouldn't have happened, just that it would have been quietly dealt with, and not necessarily in the best interest of the girl all or baby.

Not saying it should be splashed over newspapers etc, but at least with acceptance the girl will likely get some support from social services. Help with any continuation of her eduacation, and any other 'benefits' if she needs them.

And who is paying those benefits?  I knew I was doing the wrong thing by going to college and getting a half decent job.  Today I could be sat in my council house garden in the sunshine, fag in hand, can of special brew in the other rocking the pushchair with my foot.  ace.

The thing that annoys me slightly is the way they bang on about the fact that sex education is poor and kids don't know enough but I think thats bollocks personally, the kids are just being lazy. It does not take long to put a fricking jonny on for gods sake kids! :D Thats my opinion anyway.

Most schools have sex education, and mine at school was very useful. Also you hear about it at school, and in magaszines, on the tv and the radio constantly.Its always advertised.
The parents should be more responsible too, sit down and talk about it with their kids I know thats easier said than done but its either that or the teenager will not know about contraception etc.

She should be made to have an abortion and the parent/s should be shot.

Its not fair that the Baby will be bought up by a Girl that young.

I think that blaming schools is bollocks. All parents are responsible for their kids, and that includes making sure their filthy slut of a daughter can keep her dirty legs shut.

As mentioned earlier, it is weird how kids are screwing around so early these days. I'm pretty sure that when i was 11, the thought had never crossed my mind to do that kind of thing.

Most Parents couldnt give a fuck what there Kids get up to these days, i only have to walk down the local shops to see Kids of 10 still down there at 9:30pm.

I work at the Council in Bedford in Benefits. Haven't seen anyone this young, but get a lot of 15/16/17 yr olds who get pregnant, get a council house, all the rent and council tax paid. And when they're visited they have some of the nicest houses going with all big widescreen tv's etc.

Not saying they're all like that as that isn't the case; but some do it just to get a free house as such. And a lot have a partner living with them who works; but cause they don't declare them and we can't prove anything they're better off than you and me.

Annoys me. Like Mrs Bird says; she could have done that. Instead she works hard, pays taxes etc and sometimes you wonder why you bother.

To be entirely honest the teenagers of this generation give our country such a bad name. Like Dv said,  safe sex is not rocket science. Most of them are all numb nuts and are just plain lazy. Loads of kids at my old school like that. They need to grow up and start taking responsibility. Idiots.
