Title: BBQ's
Post by: Ralphy on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, 17:57:52
Just cooked my first one of the season  :)

Pork chops, Ribeye steak, sausages and burgers.

Had new potatoes and salad with it.

Top notch.

Whats your favourite BBQ meat? I love the kebabs on skewers.

Always makes me laugh how the fella has to do the Barby...missus can do all the kitchen stuff, but barby is cave man on the prowl...hunter gatherer, so lots of meat.

Barbies are good if you have to feed loads, but a bit of an effort for less than 10.

Got to be charcoal, with loads of lighter fluid for that authentic BBQ blaze  8)

Bit of a spazz with charcoal cos the fucker kept going out and had one meal where all food tasted of firelighters.

Not surprisingly am now big fan of gas BBQ

Hence why its called a grill. FACT.

I have a grill, its ace. No cleaning required, just turn on the gas, wait a couple of minutes and hey presto!

I would still admit that I prefer charcoal for the authentic BBQ taste, but the rigour required to keep it clean is a pain. The 'no cleaning' aspect of a gas grill helps give that authentic BBQ taste anyway

We cook outside 3 or 4 nights a week. Marvellous.

You cannot call a BBQ a BBQ unless there is cheese racing involved!

I knew something like this happened when you put wrapped cheese slices on a BBQ, but never knew there was an organised 'sport'. What wonders you discover on a forum such as this.

As I have an extensive collection of original Kraft Cheese Slices ready and waiting in the fridge, I might give this a go later, weather permitting, on someone else's grill!

cheese, cheese, cheese racing!

You can't beat proper steak kebabs with red peppers on a bbq, washed down with several pints of jack daniels and coke followed by copious amounts of sticky green stuff wrapped in paper and inhaled.

Hmmmm, summer

Got a craving for meat right now in fact I'd turn carnivore if I could.

I'm starting a new campaign, five portions of meat a day.  I'll even print leaflets.

So far I've managed...

Cow
Deer
Lamb
Sheep
Pig
Chicken
Chick
Turkey
Duck
Alpaca
Horse
Goat
Rabbit
Reclaimed and probably cat/dog although that wasn't knowing what it was.

I'm sure that list looks a little short though, I've missed a biggie.
