Thats all we ask for.  Not saying the players dont deserve a beer and a rest on a sat night etc or maybe even a few beers in the week, however propping up the apartments bar ordering two jugs of vodka red bull with 2 straws on last orders isnt really a relaxing way and cant help a players body!  That said if we were top of the league and the players put in as much effort as the fans did then I doubt anyone would care.  Spot on about the passion and teh shirt tho.

Santini,you obviously have a problem with Asher[which i understand :wink: ]but don't you think that we have at the very least a bit of a drink problem at the club?I mean we have two members of the squad who've been done for drink driving and another who's been in rehab this year,that suggests to me its a problem.
Fair enough having a quiet pint of a Thursday afternoon,but anymore than that is too much.i want us to have a team of players who look after their bodies and physical fittness,not a bunch of piss- heads :x

I have to admit i haven't seen any of the players out drinking but then i don't drink out in Swindon :roll: There are too many rumours of it going on though,and eventually fans believe thats its going on true or not.Basically i guess i want them to feel as shit as i do,when we lose its all i can do to get out of bed the next day let alone go out drinking :cry: .Of course it isn't every player,but when a drinking culture is tolerated it seems that it becomes the done thing,and all the younger members of the squad will indulge as well.
Like you say Asher,IF we were top of the league i wouldn't give a shit if the players were out drinking and shagging the local tarts[hypocrite that i am],but we aren't we are going down.

Weren't Nicholas [admittedly a while back]and Pook done for drink driving?And also of course it isn't every player is out drinking,but it just worries me that the younger squad members will think that drinking is a part of playing for Town,when it shouldn't be.
Really [and unrealistically i guess]i want them the players out training every day,eating nothing but pasta and drinking water,sweating their guts out for the team.Ideally i suppose i'd like some sort of East German style athelete training programme :wink: but without the steroids obviously :)

to be honest with you mate, we all wish we were pro footballers (or astronauts) so green eyed is definetely accurate. although having your week's drinking habits broadcast aswell as details of the 'local tarts' you've knobbed isn't exactly something to long for...

If you don't want to read some of the things that have been posted regarding certain squad members then I wouldn't bother joining a football forum.

Fans are going to slate players whether you like it or not and this season I think most are certainly within their rights. Players are paid to do a job and it is certainly the fans business if they aren't doing it properly and this includes tackling the reasons why.

If you have personal grievances then I'd keep them off an internet forum if I were you as this is certainly not the place.

I wasn't meaning all fans. The green eyed bit was not about lifestyle but more of a personal nature.

Whatever issues you have I would just say no-more about it on here......its unnecessary hassle.  

The drink issue at the club has been around for a while now and the fact we are virtually relegated brings everything to a head. Players are going to get named and some moreso than others.  The original thread was about questions for Mark D so maybe for now its best to stick to the original topic. No disrespect.

there will always be someone who will defend the indefensible, look at the twats that follow pete doherty, now im not suggesting players have a problem on that scale but there is definately a drinks culture at the club and to try and legitimize and defend this is just plain stupid.
