Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: Amir on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 16:22:53 Thought it would be interesting to see how people on here view their luck, especially given the team we support.
None of that glass half full crap, just do you think you are a lucky person? I consider myself to be a lucky person, and I think that a large proportion of the bad things that have happened to me have been my own fault. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: yeo on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 17:09:54 Im unlucky I think.
Though im not sure why I think that. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 17:12:11 I think I've been pretty unlucky over the past year or so
Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: STFCere on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 17:33:57 what a shit post

Yeh I seem to be pretty lucky, though the bad things that happen to me seem to be my own stupid fault. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: sonic youth on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:02:22 you make your own luck. sort of.
that said i don't think i'm particularly lucky nor unlucky. every mistake i've made has been my own fault. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: Kinky Tom on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:07:56 In terms of breaking my back and supportin the Town I'm clearly quite unlucky, though I feel very lucky to have put myself in positions whereby I risk breaking my back.
I think the lucky element of the whole ski season far outways the unlucky side of the injury. Title: Do you feel lucky? I'm down with that. If you expect good things to happen they will, but most of it is getting yourself in the position to be lucky in the first place. If you expect the world to land at your feet sat on the couch you'll always end up disappointed. Other end if you expect shit to happen it will and seems ten times worse. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:12:02 I concluded that most the shit things that have happened to me I can pretty much trace back to my own fault, yet I've had some pretty lucky breaks (some of which I've probably screwed up). So, I went for lucky even though the evaluation it's self ended up being slightly on the depressent side.

Just your luck to click on it eh  Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:27:07 If all the pointless posts were taken out then this forum would be empty. Infact my post count would be pretty near zero.
I wonder if there is an add on you can get for these boards which shows you when you most post. I reckon the majority of mine will have been at 2am after drinking numerous bottles of wine, probably staying up all night to have an msn conversation with village at 7am whilst knightmare is on challage. Happy days. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:40:06 That's just wrong Ben
Drinking alone, challenge TV, Knightmare and 7am :o That is genious, do you ever watch the Lovejoy re-runs on a bit later on UK Gold? Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:48:43 To be honest I've given it up for a more healthy life style since about feb time. I'd like to think it coincides with the down turn of quality conversation on this forum :).
Was ace whilst I kept it up but ulitmately a bit depressing. although there was a nice transition period where I'd just start drinking earlier but go to bed earlier aswell. Just got back to uni at the weekend and see me heading into a bit of a relapse. It can only mean more random quality late night posts, devlin's diary and maybe a comic or two, at least until my rather limited funds run out. Or maybe not. Maybe the time I spend drunkenly chatting up my mate's housemate will pay off and I'll have something better do.... Right I better go check what was happening in the comics and devlin's diary before the last time I lost interest. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:54:47 Nice one FB.
On the subject of luck I just got booted on a $10 tourney with an AA first hand. Fucker called all in on the river with nothing and pulled off a flush of clubs. Can't complain though played it spot on. Heavy raise on pre and post flop and it was a crapshot so you have to build up a stack fast or you're buried after a couple of hands by the blinds. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:59:59 Had the classic defeat the other day on a nice freeroll (few players, big prize)
Call a pre-flop all in with pocket aces. blokes got K9 (blatent effort to bluff the blinds). Cunt hit's trip K's. It happens, but it's still annoying. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 23:02:58 I voted for luckier than average. I might not always believe that when everything seems to be going wrong, but it's more about the constant things in life - family, friends, etc.

When you play it right like that though you can't complain. Managed a 30th place the other day in a 5,000 free roll to win a seat at the world pokey tourney. Uni friend has just managed a 100k win as well the bastard. Title: Do you feel lucky? Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 23:16:01 Best I've seen is my old housemate who graduated in july. He went back home to live with his parents, signed up to job seekers and just played poker for the next 7-8 months. Just set off on a nine month world travelling trip with his winnings.
He did it my getting good at the cash games. You've got to have the bottle though, I'd chatted to him on a few occasions when he was down a few grand over a couple of weeks. He was good enough that over the long period he was up. Fair shout to him, and it makes me feel good when he comes down to visit and I rinse him out in a game with a few mates - but to be honest it's only becuase that he's been betting massive amounts online and our £5 tourney he doesn't give a shit.
