didn't realise their goal took such a horrible deflection, i don't feel quite as irritated now.

Whats the bets Fallon gets the winner?

Or possibly their fifth?

Or am I just being negative?

I'm gonna be there, and am from Swansea so will get a large amount of abuse if we lose.

Just preparing myself for the worst!

We haven't lost in Swansea for 40 odd years.....so it'll be a novelty for the locals.

I knew curo would miss the penalty  :(  It was too predictable. Everyone expects him to score and he did'nt. Never mind, on we move.

Dire penalty but I've seen much worse.

The passing that led to our goal was pretty good.

Having seen the goal now, Jack Smith gets the blame for that too. If he had faced up to the ball and not turned his back like a girl, it's no goal.

I said to my mate when we got the penalty, "just as long as Cureton doesnt take it!"

Gurney would have scored the penalty...

To be fair everyone expects Curo to score as he's high on confidence. Get off the blokes back. He's done wonders for us since back form his loan. If a penalty comes up tues. i'd be happy for him to take it again.

No thank you,he's missed at least two pens this season already, surely we've got someone else who could take them?

Apparently he scores all his penalties in training.

I'd let Brown take it, he's got a powerful shot.

if available i'd put gurney on penalty duty. he wouldn't fuck about, he'd just smack it straight down the middle.

It was mine too but I don't judge someone on a penalty!

I judge his panalty taking on that one.

I judge his ability on years of watching him fail with numerous 60 yard passes, stupid bookings, and petulence.

That's fair enough but that particular fixture was pure, disgustingly, heartbreakingly stupid bad luck. Oh and Tommy Mooney's inability to keep hold of the ball in the dying moments  :?

It's weird, as Mooney often gets slated for that... i also seem to remember at the time being pissed off with Reeves for arsing about with it in our corner and giving them 'that' throw-in instead of hacking it clear.

Title: Hartlepool 'highlights'
Post by: sonicyouth on Tuesday, April 11, 2006, 11:54:23
From what I remember, they scored because Mooney tried to attack on his own instead of waste time and hold up the ball, he lost posession and Reeves (who was practically crippled in that game wasn't he?) put it out for a throw-in.

Painful, Painful night.

All my mates had been asking if I could get them tickets for the final when John Virgo netted.

The rest as they say, is history.

So Gurney has missed one penatly, which hit the post and came out....could have easily hit the post and gone in.

Super Sammy missed one against Blackpool in the play off season, should he have been taken off penalty duty.....Cunt Smith missed one against Franchise....does that mean he should never take one again.

Going on that Heywood should have been our penalty taker as he has a 100% record, taken one, scuffed it right down the middle, scored 1
