anyone up for filling one? i mentioned doing it a while back, would make more sense than getting the train considering the hassle with the police escort last year.

You gunna need more than a mini bus, your guna need a coach. This would be a crucial game so we need as many fans to cheer the swindon lads on.

Maybe we'll make it a funeral prosession if we are down by then and use black streamers!
Instead of taking a replica European Cup like Liverpool fans do we can take an Urn.

Seriously guys, I need to know soon so we can book the minibus(ses).

Can you post on the thread on the L&P forum ASAP if you want to come along, please?

Thanks

Whits - you might not have read the post on the L&P Forum, but if you can get to Marlborough from Newbury by bus, I can pick you up there? Then you won't have to drive to Swindon.

We're going the long way round to Brizzle, down the A4. In the interests of an increase in en-route beverage consumption time.

You have to register and login to view.

£12 a head includes hire, fuel, beer on the way down (and back if it lasts that long!).

The train is tempting. Half 8 train, arrive at temple meads at half 9 missing the old bill. Walk to Corn Street, arrive at 10, Weatherspoons opens.....perfect!  :D

I'll probably get the train tbh, depends on what time the minibus is getting in. If you're not there for opening time you're missing the point.

Alternatively the train to Pewsey? A bit of a detour but it adds to drinking time.  :)

I think it's down to 3 spare spaces now.

Anyone got any experience of pubs that might actually let us in?

Title: minibus to city
Post by: DMR on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, 10:09:58
You can usually blag your way into the Robins (no colours, home fans only) in ones and twos but that's unlikely with a busload of pissed up nutjobs (you wait till you see Carver)

The Pumphouse is the away fans pub, only about a 15 minute walk tops

Yeah... it's quite similar job to Yeovil actually Rob, you can either drink in Town Centre or one of the out of town pubs (The Bell = Pumphouse). Good Wetherspoons by the train station is normally filled with Swindon.

I've been in the Whetherspoons, always nice to be cheap!

I'll get the Pumphouse checked out for a delivery of at least 34 Town fans!

If you go down at the wrong time the police round you up and walk you to the ground, without any pub stop offs (it's a bit of a trek as well)

Get there early enought you'll be fine.

Problem last year was that Swindons lads stopped in Chippenham and didnt bowl up till 2.30 when obviously the Police were waiting to escort .

Yep, it's yours for the way back, no probs. No charge, but you might want to give DMR a couple of quid for beer if there's any left.

Where do you want dropping off? We are stopping at Calne, Chiseldon (or anywhere in between) and the CG.

See http://www.redarmyloudnproud.org.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=27746#27746 for details and my mobile number.

We will be parked with the away coaches in the Halfords car park at Trashton. Let me know for definite either way and we won't leave you behind.
