Title: The Apprentice Post by: Sussex on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 20:27:00 I saw the first series, it was ace.
Saying that though, the people on it who were going for the job were some of the most punchable cunts alive. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 20:30:30 I just said the same thing to my housemate sussex. Anyone ever see the American version? Now that was shite. 100 times more annoying people and Donald Trump who clearly doesn't know what he's doing.
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Rossi on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 22:12:07 I forgot about it and only caught the last 10 minutes cos I was watching the footy. Was it any good?
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, 22:14:19 Oooh that wa car crash TV.
That blonde old one that nerly burst into tears needs a good punch in the vulva. I think you have to have a lack of common sense to apply for that series, or a job under Alan Sugar for that matter. Tonight it definately showed. Bunch of half-wits most of them. Either full of their own self worth and management gobble-de-gook or lacking any sort of common. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, February 23, 2006, 01:02:33 That woman will never win it. She looks even more spazzy in the next episode.
Title: The Apprentice Post by: RobertT on Thursday, February 23, 2006, 09:30:35 That'll be the Big Bird lookalike who went into fits of tears when trying to put across how offesnive it was that someone had suggested they used their sexuality to get freebies (when it was their stated strategy it seems according to the clips of them) and then also went nuts everytime someone suggested they had done well. Yes, I can see her in a high powered job, I really can
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, February 23, 2006, 19:55:41 this series looks better then i expected :D
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Ironside on Thursday, February 23, 2006, 20:18:22 which one did they sack in the end because I got sidetracked just after the bird started crying?

Title: The Apprentice Post by: oxford_fan on Thursday, March 2, 2006, 01:58:51 it was silly, he sacked the bloke who looked alright.
that sayed guy was a complete prick, thick as shit. shows like this are a bit pap, none of those people are that good. that blonde bint is blatantly a manic depressive. check her mood swings Title: The Apprentice Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, March 2, 2006, 19:17:36 thats woman is still in it!
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Bedford Red on Thursday, March 2, 2006, 19:29:43 Quote from: "Rich" thats woman is still in it! And she is sooooooooooooo annoying. I feel like going up to her and punching her in the face and I am a very calm person normally. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 18:32:43 By christ I felt like screaming at the TV last night. What a fucking shambles that bird was wetter than than a urinal.
Like that Sugar chap said they aren't the best the country has to offer not even Grimsby. 2k budget to make a profit with in catering in just one day selling pizza. Why did the fuck did they spend all of their budget in the first place? Profit margin should be 60% in catering call it 50% for these numpties still leaving them having to make 3k in just a day. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 18:34:31 that women didnt have a clue and was too soft! the bloke on the other hand managed the women well i thought
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Sippo on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 18:35:04 Over weight chickens! :soapy tit wank: They wanted to amke 500 pizza's in theory, they made 90!
That Jo bird (blonde curly hair) does my nut! Mouthy cow! Great show! Title: The Apprentice Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 18:36:17 i hate her too! i want to kill that bitch!
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 18:39:09 Fucking Jo gets on my tits but she wasn't that bad last night and did quite well as part of the blokes team.
Some of the other women though you couldn't dream of employing or ever having to work with. So full of their own ability yet huff like an 8 year old when they don't get their own way. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 18:40:49 the fat one is starting to annoy me too!
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Nomoreheroes on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 23:27:42 Claim to fame:
Paul Tulip is a friend of mine. He is (or rather was) a bloody shit hot wicket keeper (big surprise that he didn't go on to play for Yorkshire). He's a really funny guy. Was a cocky twat from an early age. The amount of sledging that he did as a 14/15 year old in a pretty high standard of cricket was unbelievable ! NMH Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, March 16, 2006, 23:30:54 Is he really only 26 NMH?
He's come across ok so far bit cocky but measured enough with it that he hasn't come across as a tit like a few of the others. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Nomoreheroes on Friday, March 17, 2006, 02:38:31 Yes, he is only 26. He is a really character and his father (a high ranking ex copper) is precisely the same only with a Teeside accent. They are both the life and soul of the party. Paul is (or at least was) really, really cocky - but absolutely hilarious with it ! I wouldn't be surprised if Paul makes a few people look like real tw@ts !
Haven't seen Paul for about 5 years and was really surprised that he was appearing on the Apprentice. Another friend told me about it last year when I was back in the UK. Won't spoil it for you, you'll just have to keep watching ! NMH Title: The Apprentice Post by: oxford_fan on Friday, March 17, 2006, 03:17:42 which one is paul?
there are 2 decent blokes on that show, the fat black and the chubby unshaven whitey - the one's who were in the fat chef costumes Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Friday, March 17, 2006, 11:55:57 Quote from: "oxford_fan" which one is paul? there are 2 decent blokes on that show, the fat black and the chubby unshaven whitey - the one's who were in the fat chef costumes Chubby whitey is Paul. My mate got down to the last 50 for the apprentice but dropped out to go snowboarding instead. After the standard of a couple of them this year it's not really saying much. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 21:06:08 Gutted, Syeed has gone.
I'd have preferred him to stay just for the comedy value rather than the lettuce licker Ruth. Can’t believe how lacking in common sense a lot of them are and then so blatantly arrogant and bullish with it when they get pulled up. THink the big black bruiser has it. Title: The Apprentice Post by: flammableBen on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 21:15:02 Only second time I've seen it but seemed to me that any athletic style events on a ship full of oap's probably wasn't the way to go. With only two of them organising it aswell, blatently tricky to get the organisation done.
The fat white bloke played it perfectly. getting on the screens and stuff. proper bonus points. Would have probably kept sayeed(sp?) out of the two of them, as dazza says, comedy value. Also I thought the bit where the fat bird was going on about how sayeed didn't know how to work with her blah blah. Just summed up the point, who's fucking fault is that. yours or his. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Sussex on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 21:34:16 I fell asleep and missed half of it. Bugger.
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 21:46:25 Wasn't as good as usual Sussex but on the point Ben made I think the battle tank ruled herself out of the job.
I think it'll come down between Ansell, Paul and Ruth. Interviews next week with two to go, possibly Paul out of those top three with Ansell stealing at the post. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Nomoreheroes on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:25:11 I know a secret !! :D
Since I'm briefly back in the UK I saw it for the first time tonight. Thought it was hilarious and much better than the US version. Maybe cos I can relate to the characters more and maybe cos of knowing Paul. Incidentally, just in case anyone is interested, what I saw on there tonight was the true Paul. Can't believe that he has let himself go though as he was a brilliant wicket keeper and very good batsman at club cricket level a few years ago. He was touted at one time to be Yorkshire's next great hope and a contenter for the England job. Maybe he'll be the next Apprentice instead...We'll see ! NMH Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 22:49:05 Anyone find any bookies we can bet on the result? :D
American version apparently took a big sting on the leaked winner. Title: The Apprentice Post by: fatbury on Thursday, April 27, 2006, 07:23:19 am i strange ... I kind of fancy Ruth!

Christ that Paul came across as a complete fool, the answer of Big Issue sellers as to what annoys him most was fist bightingly cringe worthy. Probably the best pair went through in the end, literally. That said they really don't have much about them do they? Ruth testicles aside, if she had a trumpet I'm sure she'd have a rib removed so she could blow it 24hrs a day. When it comes down to it though she's largely just a fat gob. The other balding blonde one I discovered used to be a trainee junior manager at Kingston when I worked there one summer. I don't remember her in the slightest, which sums her up on the program. By the way, my source by way of an ex-colleague has divulged she's not on anything close to 100k however if you're into your slang 'offshoring' is reportedly not far off the truth when it comes to what she actually does at work. Title: The Apprentice Post by: DMR on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 15:28:14 I disagree completely Daz, I think the 2 blokes should have gone through.
The fitties only still there because Sugar likes her history... could just as well put Ansell through for being a nice guy by that argument. And yes Paul's a complete cunt but he's always been by far the most successful candidate. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 15:38:29 Ansell was a smasher and probably the only one it from the off (except Sayeed for comedy value) that I wanted to see win it.
Paul though buried himself in those interviews last night. He made a complete and utter tit of him self from trying to explain why he wanted to work for Sugar to the arrogant admission that he hadn't bothered packing his case because he was so confident he had won. I had him down to win off the back of his performances but you wouldn't get a job at McMucks walking into an interview like that let alone with a beardy millionaire. Plus for all the swagger and trumpet blowing turns out he's pretty much an entry level recruitment consultant. 'Head hunter' my arse :o If he'd shown some common, played it straight he'd have walked that last night even with his patchy CV. Off the bck of such stupidity and cuntishness I think he had to walk. Title: The Apprentice Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 15:46:56 That Paul cunt is a real life David Brent. That thing about the Big Issue was hillarious. You couldn't make it up 8)
In the end, he'd fucked up his interview so badly he had to resort to "Ooooooh, I'm great, I'm fantastic, I'm the best person in the whole world!" and the interviewer said, "Stop saying that!" :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: Title: The Apprentice Post by: Sippo on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 15:51:31 That Ruth raised profit from 3 mill to 13 mill and she only got 1%. Thats bollocks!
Title: The Apprentice Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, May 4, 2006, 15:51:51 Head in hands moment...
Paul (Cheesey grin on face and swaggering bonce) "I'm just a great guy, I make people laugh everyone likes me." Interviewer (Looks up from desk and coldly replies) "I don't" Title: The Apprentice Post by: Nomoreheroes on Friday, May 5, 2006, 03:27:37 The fact that Paul f*cked up the interview was the secret I knew. :(

Paul (Cheesey grin on face and swaggering bonce) "I'm just a great guy, I make people laugh everyone likes me." Interviewer (Looks up from desk and coldly replies) "I don't" David Brent indeed, brilliant television, now an extra 4 million people realise this bloke's a cunt. The bit about his CV dates being wrong was excellent, the bit where he was trying to say £25k is an amazing wage (no one he knows earns that kind of money), and the bit where he tried to blag his knowledge of Amstrad "they make computers" "Not any more" "Well no, they distribute them" "No they don't" "Oh well I'm not going to sit here saying things I don't know..." Title: The Apprentice Post by: oxford_fan on Friday, May 5, 2006, 09:31:08 there's no point debating the merits of the candidates as only that self-made woman has a slight bit of business nouse about her, and even she's crap.
ansell should have been put through to make the final mildly interesting though, that thick brummie hasn't got a chance. all good tele though. Title: The Apprentice Post by: RobertT on Friday, May 5, 2006, 09:56:18 Could anyone actually work with Ruth?
Several moments in that episode made me approach the TV with the intent to punch in her the face or break off her fingers. Hated her approach in the interview. Body language just smacked of I'm an aggressive little shit who knows no better and doesn't want to know any better. Then the finger slapping in the board room to Alan Sugar, I'd have made her walk right there and then. This was when she was totting up her reasons why she should stay. Loved the bit in her interview where she mentioned several people resigned as soon as she got the job. Paul, despite being the best performer, just produced the worst interview answers I have ever heard. Michelle, seems to me to be a work place politician. The sort that will never amount to much but will always do just enough in her career. She will be hated by most, but stay in the good books of a few people that matter. Bollocks to her alleged earning, who would ever go back to work if their business was a success. Which leaves Ansell, who I thought should have won after the interviews were complete. He may well be a "nice" bloke, but he did say something very interesting, if it works then it's not a problem. Treat people with respect and you get it back. he also did a very good job of showing he does have passion with his speech at the end in the board room I though, just that he doesn't feel the need to be loud mouthed arsehole all the time like Ruth. 10,000 people and we get down to these 2, makes you wonder what the fuck id going on in the business world. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Simon Pieman on Friday, May 5, 2006, 12:32:25 I've vowed never to watch it again if Ruth wins. Incidentally you cannot raise turnover from £3m to £13m through efficiency. Efficiency would improve order timing or reduce costs, not increase turnover. She's spinning as much bollocks as the rest of them.
At the end of the day most people who get these jobs do it through spouting bullshit though so it's hardly surprising, although you must admit the whole scenario must be stressful and make you prone to mistakes etc. Title: The Apprentice Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, May 6, 2006, 02:52:57 Just watched it. Cringed at Paul. Trouble is with a character like that you are either hit or miss. If he hadn't been so arrogant I think that he would have breezed through. Thought Ansell had the most dignity, but haven't seen him perform. Ruth is just trouble. No way would I have her in my organisation. Michelle appeared reasonably normal. Looked to be a poor bunch to me !
Not sure whether the US version of the Apprentice is shown over there, but it appears to me as if Trump gets better candidates than Sugar. NMH Title: The Apprentice Post by: Batch on Saturday, May 6, 2006, 07:55:02 Ruth is so full of shit. What kind of retard would turn down a subbatical from a company offering loads of share options? Noone, unless of course the story isn't that simple. Also 9 million increase through efficiency, WTF. Are they sharing toilet paper and working by candle light? Arrogant backstabber too. I wouldn't work for her.
I want the blond bird to win. But that sums her up, can't remember her name. I don't think she has too big a chance. Anselll seemed an articulate, considered thinker. Unusual for an ex pro footballer. Was a shame to see him go. Suprised noone reasearched AMS and his companies. Dicks. Mind you I guess not knowing Amstrad sell cheap tat emailer plus, unreliable Sky+ boxes and something that gives you a facial ( ) is an advantage Title: The Apprentice Post by: Simon Pieman on Saturday, May 6, 2006, 13:12:46 Quote from: "Nomoreheroes" Just watched it. Still it does make you think if she’s earning 100k off the back of that what can really be achieved. Title: The Apprentice Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, 21:26:56 was always going to be 'chelle. i thought the compilations of ruth's faces at the end was classic :D
Title: The Apprentice Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, May 10, 2006, 21:27:48 I caught Ruth glancing over at Michelle a couple of times in that post-match thing with Adrian Chiles. I think she wants to do her with a strap- on. Partly for sexual kicks but mostly out of vengeance.
That's what I think any way. :| |
