I saw the first series, it was ace.

Saying that though, the people on it who were going for the job were some of the most punchable cunts alive.

Paul Tulip is a friend of mine. He is (or rather was) a bloody shit hot wicket keeper (big surprise that he didn't go on to play for Yorkshire). He's a really funny guy. Was a cocky twat from an early age. The amount of sledging that he did as a 14/15 year old in a pretty high standard of cricket was unbelievable !

Haven't seen Paul for about 5 years and was really surprised that he was appearing on the Apprentice. Another friend told me about it last year when I was back in the UK.

Only second time I've seen it but seemed to me that any athletic style events on a ship full of oap's probably wasn't the way to go. With only two of them organising it aswell, blatently tricky to get the organisation done.

Would have probably kept sayeed(sp?) out of the two of them, as dazza says, comedy value.

Since I'm briefly back in the UK I saw it for the first time tonight. Thought it was hilarious and much better than the US version. Maybe cos I can relate to the characters more and maybe cos of knowing Paul. Incidentally, just in case anyone is interested, what I saw on there tonight was the true Paul. Can't believe that he has let himself go though as he was a brilliant wicket keeper and very good batsman at club cricket level a few years ago. He was touted at one time to be Yorkshire's next great hope and a contenter for the England job. Maybe he'll be the next Apprentice instead...We'll see !

Christ that Paul came across as a complete fool, the answer of Big Issue sellers as to what annoys him most was fist bightingly cringe worthy.

Ruth testicles aside, if she had a trumpet I'm sure she'd have a rib removed so she could blow it 24hrs a day.  When it comes down to it though she's largely just a fat gob.

The other balding blonde one I discovered used to be a trainee junior manager at Kingston when I worked there one summer.   I don't remember her in the slightest, which sums her up on the program.  By the way, my source by way of an ex-colleague has divulged she's not on anything close to 100k however if you're into your slang 'offshoring' is reportedly not far off the truth when it comes to what she actually does at work.

Paul though buried himself in those interviews last night.  He made a complete and utter tit of him self from trying to explain why he wanted to work for Sugar to the arrogant admission that he hadn't bothered packing his case because he was so confident he had won.

I had him down to win off the back of his performances but you wouldn't get a job at McMucks walking into an interview like that let alone with a beardy millionaire.  

Plus for all the swagger and trumpet blowing turns out he's pretty much an entry level recruitment consultant.  'Head hunter' my arse :o

If he'd shown some common, played it straight he'd have walked that last night even with his patchy CV.  Off the bck of such stupidity and cuntishness I think he had to walk.

there's no point debating the merits of the candidates as only that self-made woman has a slight bit of business nouse about her, and even she's crap.

Could anyone actually work with Ruth?

Several moments in that episode made me approach the TV with the intent to punch in her the face or break off her fingers.

Hated her approach in the interview.  Body language just smacked of I'm an aggressive little shit who knows no better and doesn't want to know any better.

Then the finger slapping in the board room to Alan Sugar, I'd have made her walk right there and then.  This was when she was totting up her reasons why she should stay.

Loved the bit in her interview where she mentioned several people resigned as soon as she got the job.

Paul, despite being the best performer, just produced the worst interview answers I have ever heard.

Michelle, seems to me to be a work place politician.  The sort that will never amount to much but will always do just enough in her career.  She will be hated by most, but stay in the good books of a few people that matter.  Bollocks to her alleged earning, who would ever go back to work if their business was a success.

Which leaves Ansell, who I thought should have won after the interviews were complete.  He may well be a "nice" bloke, but he did say something very interesting, if it works then it's not a problem.  Treat people with respect and you get it back.  he also did a very good job of showing he does have passion with his speech at the end in the board room I though, just that he doesn't feel the need to be loud mouthed arsehole all the time like Ruth.

10,000 people and we get down to these 2, makes you wonder what the fuck id going on in the business world.

I've vowed never to watch it again if Ruth wins. Incidentally you cannot raise turnover from £3m to £13m through efficiency. Efficiency would improve order timing or reduce costs, not increase turnover. She's spinning as much bollocks as the rest of them.

At the end of the day most people who get these jobs do it through spouting bullshit though so it's hardly surprising, although you must admit the whole scenario must be stressful and make you prone to mistakes etc.

Just watched it. Cringed at Paul. Trouble is with a character like that you are either hit or miss. If he hadn't been so arrogant I think that he would have breezed through. Thought Ansell had the most dignity, but haven't seen him perform. Ruth is just trouble. No way would I have her in my organisation. Michelle appeared reasonably normal. Looked to be a poor bunch to me !

Not sure whether the US version of the Apprentice is shown over there, but it appears to me as if Trump gets better candidates than Sugar.

In the first series of the UK one the candidates were good. This series Alan Sugar has publicly criticised the programmers for choosing rubbishy people.
