Title: Notts County Post by: FormerlyPlymRed on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 17:01:55 Anyone going up to this?
Where is best to park/drink? Title: Re: Notts County Post by: kerry red on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 17:06:48 Robin Hood is OK. The one by the Trent Bridge is easy walking distance.
Don't really know about parking. May be able to leave it the pub car park Title: Re: Notts County Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 17:12:17 Parked in a council depot place last season as recommended here www.footballgroundguide.com
5 min walk from the ground Title: Re: Notts County Post by: Gnasher on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 17:49:52 Park on the roads outside the ground. Plenty of space when I arrived.
Title: Re: Notts County Post by: donkey on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 18:03:07 Going by train...and off to the Fellows Morton as always. Good beer there.
Title: Re: Notts County Post by: Sir Pissalot on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 18:17:14 Going by train. Drank at The Trent Bridge last season. It was ok but more of an eating pub than a drinking one. May try one near the station this time. The FGG lists a few.

Good beer there. Many (ie at least 3) happy memories of this place. It was our home from home during the Burns Beano weekend of c. 2004, and again for my stag weekend (when we lost 7-1 to Forest) a few years later. Cannot recommend the pub highly enough for anyone thinking of going to this. Title: Re: Notts County Post by: Paolo69 on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 19:06:40 If you like your ale (which I do) then Nottingham is a Mecca. Great drinking place. So great in fact that I'll be there by 11am.
Title: Re: Notts County Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 19:15:33 One of the best cities around around for drinking and nights out in general. If only the urban myth of a 2:1 women to men ratio was true.

If only the urban myth of a 2:1 women to men ratio was true. 2/1? I thought it was 4/1. Glad I wasted no time trawling the clubs and bars for a shag back in my day. Title: Re: Notts County Post by: fatbasher on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 20:09:05 Thinking of adding this to my must visit grounds list on Saturday and sacrifice the last home game of the season. Weather will be the deciding factor.

If only the urban myth of a 2:1 women to men ratio was true. Historically Nottingham used to have more women than men...although probably not 2-1. It was because of the lace making industry which was Nottingham's thing....don't think it is like that any longer. His dentures followed suit.

Yep We sold our 300 allocation a couple of days ago Title: Re: Re: Notts County Post by: Only Me on Thursday, April 24, 2014, 08:55:46 The Salutation Arms pub is one of the oldest pubs in Nottingham (on Maid Marrion way). Great boozer selling good real ale (well it did years aho when I was in Nottingham).
