if paynter thinks he's better than us.let him go and fail elsewhere. i dunno what bullshit his agent is telling him,but he aint no championship player.he's found his level with us.he's bloody good at this level, but i think he's peaked already and wont get better
Which is why it will be best for him to go....downhill for BP from here. Pericard will fill the gap.

If he is earning 8K a week will he actually care?

Probably not. Will be interested to see how it gets on at the next level though. I agree with Arriba and think he may have done the best that he's capable of. He's been fairly anonymous for the last few games that he's played in. Plus strikers that leave Swindon have a habit of going downhill or becoming injury prone!

The vast majority of football players are driven by money and he is no different. I don't think he'll do well. Austin wants to move on and improve his wage income. One reason being he has a second kid on the way. Saying that I don't think he's doing too well with what he's earning now (was £300, is now £1800 a week).

if he's happy sitting on the bench on more money, then that would say alot about a player.i dont think they are all like that, and most want to play.

If Paynter had a shit season at best he'd be looking at a one year extension on the same money, at worst he'd be released and be looking at reduced money with smaller club. Given it is so easy to end up on the scrap heap you can't blame any player for taking a pay day to provide them with security for the future.
If Leeds have offered him £8k a week and say a 3 year deal, that's a £1.2m pay day for him and would set him and his family up for life. He'd be an idiot to turn a contract like that down just for regular football in a lower league, especially as he'll be thinking he can be a regular at Leeds in the Championship.
