Title: Darren Ward
Post by: blinkpip on Wednesday, October 22, 2014, 16:50:16
It's been on my mind since the beginning of last night game, but I feel we should at least have included Wardy for last night game and for Colchester.

I understand Power/Cooper youth thinking, but with Thompson and Branco out, surely he can do a job for a few games.

Kasim is crud at the back and it takes away our midfield creativity.

Thoughts?

Anybody but Kassim please.

Chuckles made a rare 2014/15 fuck up IMO.

Rather use someone from the youth team.

I guess only Cooper knows what shape he's in, if he's been doing his badges as I'm sure I read somewhere he probably isn't training full time. It doesn't sound like there's been a falling out, so unless he has a big appearance based contract I can't why he wouldn't be involved if he could contribute.

Has he been playing development games at all?

He played in the last one but suspect our current style of play might be far beyond him now.

Dont think he'd have the legs in a back 3, we are very stretched at times. Id rather play bell as one of the cbs and then willo out wide

Go on, admit it. You've missed the bollocks.

He might have prevented a goal or 2 from putting his head in where it hurts on those corners.

However that would have probably been cancelled out by the fallout of his attempts to pass it along the back line and out of defence as per our style.

Absolutely not.

Ward. no.

Branco. yes.

Our back line play so far up the pitch that when our forward moves break down there are always huge gaps between them and Fods.

Of course, giving the fucking ball away ad nauseum didn't help matters on Tuesday

To be fair is it really fair recalling him for 2 games and then disguarding him again once Nathan is available again, he wouldnt be match fit anyway so would likely to be an extra yard of the pace

It is a conundrum on who to put there on Sat as Kasim is clearly better in midfield and was missed but we have no natural central defender to place there, so I suppoe it must be one of the 2 loanees  - although both dont seem to be that tall

Ben Gladwin...

Or Louis as he should be fit enough to start Saturday...

Could the decision not to consider Ward for the first team be due to a financial clause as much as anything else?

Nathan is only 5"9 though.

I can't be the only one who got this far and gave up.
