He was a bit hit and miss... I think I'd take him though.
Wouldn't surprise me if he ended up with Flitcroft (if he stays in that job)

Anyone fancy Banks back on a perm?
Like a lot of loan players, starts well and then diminishing returns. wouldn't say no but wouldn't get the juices flowing

He was largely good up to the suspesion, largely average or below thereafter.
I'd take him, but not sure if I'd regret it!

That move into the Football League just didn't really work out for him, did it.

With Oldham it's probably little to do with the manager... they're owned by an agent. Next season could go either way with them, they'll either bomb or it could work out, hasn't done Wolves any harm. We could do with seeing a few basket cases to act as a safety net. Given that Macclesfield have had problems paying the players this year and Morecambe have been getting sub 1000 gates, you'd have hopes for them... Cov probably need to get up, but you'd expect FGR to be stronger next season.

Oh right seeing as it wasn't quoted, I assumed it was related to the generic list. JG, is too much of a footballer for Div 3/4. A typical Power Williams era signing.... hoping to develop an individual player for sale, but losing track of the need to win games for that to happen.

You can be a 'footballer' and do very well in the lower leagues. Plenty of teams over the years have done very well in L1 and L2 playing technical, passing football without vast budgets. Plymouth did it in last year in L2 and are doing it again in L1. Roberto Martinez took Swansea through the leagues playing 4-2-3-1 with plenty of small technical midfielders of Goddard's type. I feel sorry for Goddard, and think he can make it in league football.

Don't know much about Plymuff.... but Kenny Jackett, got Swans out of Div 4, with Ade Akinfenwa up top. They hung about for a while in Div 3 with player like Gary Monk and Alan Tate, at the back and paid good $ to get Gurney and Fallon off of us. Robbie Martinez did get good use out of Leon Brittan and Joe Allen, when they eventually left Div 3, but these despite being small are exceptional players... being small doesn't mean you are physically uncompetitive... though to be a "footballer" as the old McMahon cliche goes, first you have to win your battles.

I think the best small midfielder in the bottom couple of divisions is Erhun Oztumer at Walsall who has run circles round us the last few times we have played against him while at Walsall and Posh.
Small skillful midfielders are few and far between in the bottom 2 leagues though.
