It's been pretty crap for all of last season's escapees as well as those that stayed. The only one who has been OK is Foderingham, and he had to go to the footballing backwater of Scotland, which hardly counts.

I am pretty sure Jimmy Quinn and Andy Rowland have done the same playing for Swindon as fill in keepers, I know Handy Andy definately saved one when he went in goal after Endersby or Allen was sent off or taken off injured in the old div 3 or 4.

I added "Buffon" to his name on wiki yesterday and it's still there. Snigger

Didn't Alan MacDonald save a pen at Loftus Road after Digby was sent off?

No unfortunately not, he did however keep a clean sheet with his 70 mins in goal. with a bit more luck than judgement at times!
I checked back and Andy Rowland did save a penalty away at Newport in 1980 when Jimmy Allan went off injured in the 20th minute in a 2-0 win. I am pretty sure Jimmy Quinn did the same too but can't remember who against.

In my defence, I had Satan's own hangover that day and just wanted a quiet game...I didn't get one!

Are you sure Andy R saved a pen ? ....I was at that match and remember he made a number of decent saves. Long time ago now so entirely posible I've forgotten. Animal Williams got injured and as we had no more subs, he got bandaged up like a mummy and stood out on the wing, which was the usual way...players would hobble around maybe take a throw in or lump the ball if it came their way. The only time I recall Jimmy Q going in goal was the infamous Skoda Hubcap game, where Fraser got sent off at 2-0 up and we lost 3-2. v Shots at the CG.
