Nah. Their fans would see straight through that.

Not sure if this is a good thing or not, but nowadays you can get wireless pretty much anywhere.
I am currently sat in a softplay place with the kids whilst doing some work on my laptop.

I guess if it distracts from interacting with the kids then it's a bad thing, if however they're fine and don't need you then it's a good thing, if you're being paid for the work.

If it enables more flexible working, great.
If it enables/drives expectation of longer hours, quicker responses, bad.

Quite often get a very early / late train into and out of London Lot's of people hammering away on laptops. It's a bit sad, but if it enables people to get away earlier than they normally do, then all well and good. If on the other hand it's just a symptom of trying to do the job of 2 or 3 people following "rationalisation" then I hope that they think it's worth it. From experience, there is no thanks for it.

Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change? Crap!

Thanks guys, I'm glad it sparked some interest. It was kind of my point NMH - Not massively an age thing for me personally, I've always loved going on long hikes/walks. Reg - Indeed, I actually walked further out than I initially intended, so ended up with the 40km+ Would usually catch a bus about 5-10km away from where I'd start and then work my way back in (usually another 15-20km), so about 30km (sometimes make it 32km to get the 20 miles up). I haven't read the book but I will source it. Sounds like some interesting observations. Cheers. Audrey - Would love a dog as had two Labradors all through my childhood and early adulthood. It's not practical for me right now but I will have one and some point. Cracking companion
