Have a good feeling about this one and think we will win 3-1. I reckon Paolo may give Smith the goalie spot for the JPT games. Not going tonight but wont be to far away from the radio coverage.

Still struggling to get interested in this competition.
Hopefully that will change tonight as I think we will nick it 2-1 but if we lose I’d be annoyed for 5 mins at the most. The game Saturday is still at least 10 times more important than tonight.

I know its pretty much irrelevant anyway as he wasn't due to play tonight but Timlin would have been suspended for receiving 5 yellows, convenient....... http://www.southendunited.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10444~2537690,00.htmlDidn't Real Madrid do something similar in the Champions League last season? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1332497/Real-Madrid-duo-Xabi-Alonso-Sergio-Ramos-deliberately-sent-off.html I don't think they can count tonight as his match ban as he is ineligible anyway.

Reading the Shrimperzone forums it was interesting that a Col U fan popped up with his assesment 3-0 to the blues. We've buttered them up for ya
Not a very physical side. Paolo di Canio has got them playing the italian way. (Tripping over their own feet and looking for a penalty, feigning injury at any possible opportunity and filling the box with 9 defenders ready to hoof it up to the lone striker.

Fancy us to win this tonight. Southend are due a defeat. That said though so are we. Not overly fussed if we do go out though. The league is the priority.

Well they are even more confident than we are reading on their forums, we are the last team to beat them 17 games ago, lets make sure we are the next team to beat them! maybe we are their bogey team this season. !!!!

I want Magera to have a Fjortoft season. So I'm backing him to get a couple tonight, an aeroplane celebration and then a goal a game for the rest of the season. So we'll probably lose tonight (3-2 or pens) but go on to win the league.

Not as such but you can budget for it i would of thought. If they know they got a wembley final to go for example i would of thought they can make a few signings or at least pay some wages for players they may not have got before.
The 2nd leg of the area finals isn't until February so making the final won't have any impact on the wage cap as it comes after it is set for the rest of the season (end of the transfer window I believe). So it won't help us and will only help Southend if they are strapped for cash and can't afford loan signings or to pay their bills.

So is the area final 2 legs, then the game after that is at Wembley?
Effectively we're 3 games away then?
Right?

Last time I checked, they were still throwing their toys out of the pram because Timlin couldn't play....!
