Pre-season has gone well, we have signed some top players and confidence amongst even the pessimistic of fans is sky high.

We start off on Saturday against a localish side who are also tipped to do well. I expect them to bring around 1,500.

So, Are we going to get a crowd approaching 10k on Saturday? We've sold around 6k season tickets apparently so the minimum we should be getting is 8k.

Brighton expect to bring 3k... If they do, which we all know they won't, then 12k, if not about 10k.

Despite my optimism for the season, I'm not optimistic when it comes to attendances. I don't quite know what else Fitton and Wilson can do to get the fans in but I'll go with 8500 for Saturday with 1500 being queer.

Its gay pride weekend in Brighton. 3k is highly optimistic.

I think we'll make 5 figures for this game.

At this level, our attendances are just fine.  As yet, we have not managed promotion to the Championship and neither have we had our ground redevelopment.  Both of these will see attendances really take off.  To be pushing 5 figure attendances for a significant proportion of our games in this league is a massive achievement.  Let's not forget that there were times during the last (or should that be 'lost') decade when we didn't even hit 5,000.

I think a shite world cup, cracking season last year, some quality signings and an undefeated pre-season will see us just sneek in to the 5 figures. My guess 10,021. If we get under 9k i will be totally gutted.

 The last time we had an opener v Brighton, was 67 the summer of love...

 Crowd was 15,790....in the spirit of the age BHA had several lads turned up wearing Sgt Pepper style ceremonial red military jackets. Good bunch of lads who I'd met previously, but they made the mistake of having a go in the TE.

 They got battered, just as well the jackets were red....

 It was a stonking hot day...as it will doubtless be on Saturday.

But they're a massive club, waiting only on the building of their gazillion seater FAECES stadium to pour in the loyal hordes. Surely they'll be able to pack out our tiny weeny 3rd division ground with their enormous loyal following?

as stated its pride down here this weekend, massive event, the city goes apeshit for 48 hours and illegal raves and the like pop up everywhere.

I think about 10,000 hopefully a few more. STs have sold well and with the players we have signed there is a lot of optimism about at the moment. Hopefully good weather will help as well.

Bet £16.37 win at 11/10 for advanced purchased tickets. Bet £18.18 win for tickets purchase on the day.

What you should be doing is laying this bet to recoup ticket money if we fail to win

I think I would be a little disappointed if we don't get over 10K.

Crowds are usually up on the first day of the season, although we haven't been starved of football over the summer because of the world cup, and from my perspective it only seems like yesterday I was walking out of Wembley.

So the season has come around really fast, but we've put a great squad together and we're coming up against a decent team, so providing it doesn't piss down there's no excuse really for people getting out there and supporting the lads (unless you are on holiday of course!).

Hopefully 9K home, 1200 away and 3 points to start things off.

Well, if we've got 5,800 odd ST holders and Brighton I imagine will bring a couple of thousand, that takes it up to round about the 8,000 mark. On that basis I would be disappointed with anything less than 10,000.
