The ref was shit, we were even shitter. Full backs are not up to it. Such is life. Wasn't boring. I'll probably go again.

Yes the major fault with PB this Summer has been his lack of recruitment.
As BO says we need cover at both LB and RB, we need another CB too if Lancashire is indeed crocked.
We need another striker too as Richards (so far) looks to be in his last season of playing. Yes we have Woolery to come back but who knows how long away he is from action.
We looked devoid of creativity in midfield without Doughty today, McCourt just had zero impact all game, Toums should have started and I think Smith would have been a far better option alongside of him.
Iandolo is nowhere near good enough and shouldn't have started.
Dunne is not and never will be a right back, way off the pace, loses track of the game, cannot tackle without leaving his foot in and can't cross a ball to save his life.
LB (1st team), CB (cover), RB (cover), Striker (cover depending on Woolery) but I guess thats tipping us over the budget scales.
I would think that even the U21's right back would do a better job than Dunne.
Agree with all of this. Woolery was on the radio before the game. He won't be back training for around 3 weeks. There was also a mention of Conroy. Brown was quite vague and said he didn't want to go into detail or something like that?

Stronger, fitter, faster!! Simple game, we make it so hard for ourselves, pinging passes that are easily picked out by the opposition. It looked like Town had been on the piss until about 2-30, we were bad. Brown must shoulder a lot of the blame for that performance, we were set up totally wrong. Landolo and McGlashan are a waste of valuable oxygen, why the hell he couldn't see that Adebayor was all at sea on the left wing and moved him inside alongside Richards who was never at the races today. Back to the drawing board Mr B.

I thought Toums looked about as fit as any 31 year old, I don't think he will improve fitness wise, thats just how he is, he looks lethargic and slow but I think its deceptive.

Both of those are disappointing TBH.

Nicely summed up. Pretty much the whole 90 was dire on all levels.

Applying some perspective though, we've looked handy in most games bar two.
For me the perspective is that we could very easily have lost all our home games, but happily played the get out of jail card. Now you can't keep doing that, and the hope must be you use that trend to build a functional side that can win games maybe 2-0 at home. We're nowhere near atm. I do have a bit of sympathy for Brown in that he's working with a reduced budget compared to last year, and that could explain why we're worse off than at the same stage last year. I had hoped Bury might be one of the basket case clubs this season.... but sadly it looks like they've spent a bit. The fella with a brace, had only scored 2 in the 2 previous seasons We've now got to go to Yeovil who are on fire, things could start to look very messy by next week. we definitely need a response... our hold on the Wilts/Glos/Somerset mini league is at stake.

Next game, injuries barring I would play.
McCormick
Taylor (no other option currently) Woolfenden Nelson McGlashan at RB
Doughty (if fit) Anderson Alzate Smith Toums
Bayo
I'd go 3 at the back until Knoyle is back; McCormick (on merit)
Woolf RCB (should be CB but best cover), Sid CB, Taylor LCB (He's better here than out&out LB)
Alzate RW, Smith RCM, Dave DCM, Doughty LCM, Keshi LW
Adebayo FW, Richards SS Alzate and Keshi can switch or give them the freedom to do so. Push Crazy Legs and Richards closer together with Richards picking up any scraps or lay offs/heads down from Beyo. One of Keshi or Alzate can join the attack and although that leaves us more exposed defensively, Taylor works better in a tight knit three. Dave soaking up play in DM to find Doughty, who we know can link well with Keshi/Alzate. Smith makes up the numbers.
