Doughty's tackling often led to bookings for him with poor timing, not a forte of his to say the least!

6 yellows and a red card are testiment to that!

But saying that from Christmas onwards his tackling did improve a lot.
Interesting stat.

For a player who is neither hard nor dirty.

It was good to see him putting himself about.  Although his eye for a pass was matchless, we had enough midfield creativity for any suspension not to be too critical.

Off topic, I know, but I wonder how that compares with Grant or Lyden?

This isn’t really off-topic - what you’ve pointed to is exactly the strength of the Wellens setup.

If we lose a player through injury, or because of red or yellow suspension, then there are layers of cover that we haven’t seen in the past.  Several squad members are more than capable of covering a range of positions, and the overall shape of the team doesn’t have to change too much.

That’s why tomorrow’s team looks strong - it’s not paper thin and liable to be  forced off course if someone picks up a knock.  Last season, the Team as a whole far exceeded the sum of the parts, and although Doyle got most of the plaudits for his goal scoring, it was hugely significant that Grant was voted Player of the Year.

This time around, our forward line as a whole looks even stronger, so ......... Pint

I can't say I remember him as most Oldham teams have been boring over the years but the stats don't lie and he was obviously good in that position

Ey?

The worst ones are those that you have to explain yourself.
I believe your Greek post translates as “Geoff the Ref you are a fucking disgrace, so piss off back to Twitter you cunt”.  Or something similar.
Sorry to disappoint you.  Cheesy
