This is Man Utd we're talking about. They are 7th. He still had £100m to spend in his tenure and he blew £60m of that on Fellaini (wank) and Mata (overrated panic buy).
He's not excactly been hard done by, really.

I haven't watched a lot of premiership football this season but every time I've watched Man U, they have been laborious, one dimensional and seemingly easy to play against.
That's because their game plan for the last few yearsis play the simple pass to Scholes and let him do the difficult bit. Now the Defenders and Midfielders all of sudden need to pass it forward and they don't know how.

Should be under the 'What's Wrong With Football' thread. Took over an ailing team and are 7th. Seems as if there is a 'player power' thing going on too.
Absolutely agree....couldn't care less what happens to Man U, but to give a guy six years, with the Alex Ferguson leftovers (who was given four years to rebuild) and then sack him after 11 months.... Of course when Fergie was appointed the club was not owned by Jed's American brothers....thats whats wrong with football, and that is without any comment on Moyes' abilities or otherwise.

I heard today on the radio (don't know if it's true) that Moyes start at United was actually better than Ferguson's. If true it just highlights the way football's gone since the advent of big money.

A quick look on wikipedia says they came 11th in Fergie's first season.

But Ferguson took over a team that was historically under achieving - Moyes took over the reigning champions. Noy saying I agree but does need to be considered in its context.

Which surely made it tougher for Moyes?

A little bit of a different side that Moyes took over than Fergie did though. Taking over a team in 21st partway through the season, as opposed to a side that just won the league by 11 points, with a whole pre season and sizeable transfer budget to work with.

There's a big old debt that now needs servicing at Man U, and the Glazers need as much money to service that. CL football is a must, and the talk is they are planning on 'money spinning' friendlies against other non qualifiers to help cover the shortfall, says it all.
In the meantime, Fergie is getting 2m a year as a 'reward' for not rocking the boat against the Glazers, when he was manager...

Moyes should have waited and become the manager after the manager after Fergie.
It was always going to be a poisoned chalice for whoever took over.
I've enjoyed watching the club implode immensely

The best part about it all is that Everton have had their best season in years. Unlucky Moyes.

I suspect he believes he is a shoe in.
