Title: The wage budget!
Post by: BANGKOK RED on Sunday, January 20, 2008, 22:17:53
Is it just me, or does it seem as though Fitton has given us some serious cash to flash in term's of player's wages?

I mean we already have too many players as it is yet McNamee's salary must be quite hefty for a L1 club and there are more coming. I am sure that there will be some departure's although they probably won't be our best players (Unless the bid is worth the player of course)

Is this ambition?, as in STFC=ambitious club? I'm confused!  :?  :?  :?

Well first things first i think we'll see departures as well as arrivals this week. I think Blackburn and Mohammed will be off as will Adams and the BEST 3. That's 6 off the wage bill.

Let's also not forget that Sturrock was on 250k (it is believed) and Malpas will probably only be on half that at best so there is scope there with the money we are saving for players wages. People like Cox and this QPR guy probably won't come cheap.

players under contract cant just be offloaded.they need clubs to come in for them.
i certainly hope we are an ambitous club.if not, there is no point in existing

Arent we only allowed 60% of turnover on wages?  We might just pay them off

No that's only league 2 i think. And yes we would probably pay them off. Adams is out of contract anyway.

He's been given until the end of the season to prove himself

I would imagine that the new lads coming in will not be on high wages as they are young lads who obviously want 1st team football and as they were not really 1st teamers at their previous clubs then they won't be high earners, but if we get Cox I would imagine he will be on a fair wack.

I have worked out that based on The Best 3, Adams, Blackburn and Mohamed all being released then that should free around £12k a month in wages. Not to bad really

Yeah agree don but we are not talking about any with experience, either way that clears up a good amount to spend on decent players wages

Based on last year appearances though pook is a first team regular, Adams , blackburn , teddy bear and the child abductors are probably on less than him I would of thought

But Pook has been playing for us a few years now and has been almost a first team regular for a while. Mohammed will be on peanuts comparatively I'd have thought. If you look where he came from he will have been earning next to nothing before.

Paul Edwards was on less than £500 a week when he was here.

Didn't know that tails, but I knew one of our random non-league signings from around then turned out to be  not shit. It was a shame he never really settled.

Got done for ram raiding (stealing sheep apparantly  ) Think he spent time in a young offenders institute. Razor swiftly nicknamed him "Shawshank" :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Between you and me, I reckon Fitton has put quite a bit of money into the club and will continue to do so. Keep it to yourself though
