I really like it, nice and old fashioned. Was our home kit red around '66? I'd prefer it red with white shorts and socks.

that is where the problem lies...there is no design,its like they've been hit badly by the recession and have picked up the 1960's tops and added scrap material for a collar, so it looks like they've thought of something new.

I like it for it's simplicity, but couldn't justify paying £35 quid for that. I'll probably get one when it's being changed and it's dead cheap though.

I like it. Football kits were originally simple and why not? I hated the token 3 Lions pattern on the side of the previous effort - it was essentially faux burberry.

Its £35 at release from JJB, almost certainly the same in Sports Soccer.

I think the only way they could have compelled me to buy and England shirt, was to do a design like this one.

Simplicity is as much design as a giant blue lion all down one side.Its the same as designer clothes with a fuck off logo all over it,everyone knows the proper stuff doesnt need that.

I've not had an England shirt since I was a kid but like Oxford Fan I may even buy this one.

Though to be fair the England player shirts were Tailer cut to fit,they probably wont look so good off the shelf over my beer gut.

Im hearing a lot of this lately and i cant understand why? I love the England games. As i only support Swindon and dont have a Premier team like a lot do, its a chance to have a reason to support the bigger names in football.

Maybe its because we didnt qualify for the Euros last year? Surely the connection will be back for the WCF which we are almost 99% sure to qualify for?

Hate to admit it, as it's akin to me liking an Oxford shirt, but I really like the shirt, not sure about the all white kit look, but the shirt itself is quality.  It's about time Scotland brought out another decent shirt, as our recent ones have been dire.

That england shirt looks like a 1980s PE kit with the iron-on badges!

Dunno what it is STA, I just like it.  I haven't liked a Scotland shirt for years.  1998 one maybe, think it's an age thing.  Even our rugby shirts are crap at the moment.  Swindon's shirt is crap too, can't wait for the decent make next year (fingers crossed).  The only saving grace is Hibs' shirt, which is quality.

only thing that pisses me off about the Scotland shirts is they all appear to be 3 year old templates of roma kits.

Nah that was the 96 kit, which is probably my favourite ever football shirt, oh well it's level with Denmark's from 1986 - which was sublime.

The 98 kit wasn't as nice as 96 but it was still a nice shirt.

Even my dad had the tartan shirt. The only other football related shirt I've known him to own was an 1980's Aberdeen American football type jersey!

Ralphy, do you know what size they go up to in inches. A mate of mine was hoping to get one but I think he is a 56 chest.

I just looked on Kitbag.com and the Official England store and the biggest they do is a 54 inch chest.

This will be absolutely huge so it should fit him.

Tried one of these on yesterday, but £50 is too much.

I'm guessing they are made of polyester but its an almost cotton like finish.

I love the shirt, but £40 or £50 is too much for a peasant like me. If it were £25 I would have bought it.


I wonder if clubs will take inspiration from the England kit, and introduce old style kits for next season. We've got a deal with Nike I think, I would like to see a revival of the mid 80's kit.

In previous employment I worked in a sports shop, when the new Newcastle home shirt was released a car load of Geordies ran in, grabbed as many of the shirts as they could manage and made off with them.

They got away with around 100 shirts.

Oxford Fan, maybe you could organise a hit like this? I'll have one off you for £15, I'm sure others here will pay a similar amount :)
