I think it's more the fact that a major incident takes place and the first thought for some is to get their phones out. Even seen on the news a few years ago people filming and goading someone who jumped to their death. Awful.

All the photos I saw from Westminster bridge prior to arrival of emergency services showed members of the public helping, or at least apparently trying to. The video shot by the visiting lecturer from a taxi showed people rushing to help. I think you're tilting at windmills tbh
Yeah, a lot of people do help Paul, I saw that too.

The point is how many people are willing to help nowadays? You probably find less and less offer any sort of assistance.
Like this for example - the soldier on the right more interested in putting more film in a camera

Coming Relief this year is an absolute car crash. I've donated and it's a great cause but it's really not funny? Has it always been this bad?

It has always been shit. They could probably make more money by saying donate money and we won't broadcast this shit. For most of the famous people it's self indulgent sycophantic bollox of the highest order. The cause however is extremely worthy and unfortunately the end probably justifies the means but it's fucking painful. My wife and kids watch it.

Wogan used to get £10k to host the bash until it was public knowledge then amazingly St. Terry donated his fee.

Haven't watched much of comic relief tonight, but just caught an upsetting piece about famine in which the baby featured died. Directly after that segment there followed a pointless game involving piles of biscuits. Seemed a poor bit of scheduling and quite insensitive.

I had it on briefly, saw Lenny Henry was presenting and switched off. The only person less funnier than him would be Jack Whitehall and I'm guessing that talentless piece of shit had his attention-seeking fizzog involved at some point.

Charity is huge business and the amount of money and research that goes into finding out how to get the most donations from people is phenomenal. I think you can safely say that however you feel personally the reason they do these things is because they work.
That said, I was helped a lot when I was younger by a charity that owed much of its funding to children in need, and I still refuse to watch the shite. I hate that some people feel obliged to watch it, or feel guilty that they don't sign up to have people throw bananas at them for 24 hours or Christ knows what.
As long as you're a good person in your day to day life, Jesus loves you and knows you care.

I don't like how programs like that make the British public feel guilty. We give more in foreign aid than anyone bar the US. Maybe if we used the money on famine rather than funding Ethiopian pop groups ....

I think that's probably a very different programme. Aptly named, possibly, but almost certainly not suitable for scheduling on primetime Friday evening on BBC 1

When the other half is drunk with questions like can we go to bed soon at 8:30pm.
Especially worse when you're at 0% alcohol at 8:30pm. I'm surprised I've survived this long 😐
