I certainly wouldn't drive there again, it was a nightmare getting away last season.

Presumably theres a few of you coming up from Swindon? Last time I went it worked pretty well getting to Saaarfend at 11.30am and getting breakfast in Spoons. I guess that'd mean leaving Fenchurch Street at around 10.30am to go to Southend Central?

I asked the usual suspects in the pub.

Maybe I smell?

Yes Fenchurch street, trains every 15-20 mins, 50 minute journey. There's a 17.14 and 17.29 back.

You can get group savers (4 or 6 people) for £17 from Didcot to Southend. If you add the Swindon to Didcot bit that makes it about £21 in total.

Quick update, us greater london residents are heading to the Last Post, which i think may be the Spoons mentioned above.

Would imagine most of us will be heading there for 12-12.30

I should be there at 1ish, if you see a ginger walking in at that time give me a nudge.

Reevesy - I'm on the 12 from Fenchurch St if you want to meet up.

Arriba - last post is practically opposite Southend Central, not sure if other stations are nearer the ground though.
