I see that Oxford have sacked their manager. Someone called 'Patto', apparently.

They must have heard he is in advanced talks with their rivals down the A420 about becoming their new manager!! And if that's right, I'll not be going to the CG until he is sacked!

Most of their fans are in favour of John Ward taking over on their forum.

Manager Patterson axed by Oxford Darren Patterson Patterson had been under pressure from disgruntled Oxford fans
Blue Square Premier club Oxford United have sacked manager Darren Patterson.
Former U's manager Jim Smith, now a club director, has been installed as caretaker boss and will take charge for Thursday's match against Mansfield.
Oxford chairman Kelvin Thomas said: "Darren is a very honest, hardworking young manager who has given everything he had to the role.
"However, we feel that a change of manager and a change of direction is needed at this time."
Patterson, 39, joined the coaching staff at the Kassam Stadium in 2002 and became manager just over a year ago.
Results this season have been disappointing and Oxford are currently 16th in the table.
Patterson's last game at the helm was a 2-0 defeat against 10-man Torquay in the FA Cup first round on Saturday.

Nigel Clough would be a good option but can't see him leaving Burton for another non league club That fact never grows old.

They seem to think Steve Coterill is an option when he's made it perfectly plain he doesn't want to go back below the Championship. At least with our random speculations they haven't ruled it out.

Don't think they have the money to appoint a reasonable name... If they're sensible they'll appoint someone who's been there and done that at Conference level.

Ronnies been looking for an excuse not to go, I heard his mrs is cursing me for taking him to that one game! I don't have to look for an excuse Ash, let me just mention Millwall, Huddersfield etc etc! I'll be there on Saturday - unless they appoint Patterson!
