I was rather expecting the octopus to be the point where people lost it.

Love octopus! I generally like most foods, mushrooms are the only thing I can't abide.

Also a nice white wine rather than espresso would be lovely!!

I'm currently working for a week in Rotterdam. Beautiful weather. Last night an Italian buffet. Tonight an Asian buffet. Tuesday night is a gala dinner. Plus plenty of good coffee and stoopwafel. Can't complain.

I did a three mile run before a two hour preseason training session this morning. It was tough but enjoyable. Running in the river ray was a highlight. It was cold but refreshing.

Also that shaw forest place ain't nothing special is it. Could do with a football stadium built there.

I was in Rotterdam last weekend.  Strange place I thought.  One street reminded me of the centre of Swindon.  But there was a statue of a gnome with a bell and a buttplug.  Which was odd but terribly dutch I guess.

Strange place indeed. Built around banking and commerce, having been reconstructed post-war. I was quite fearful of crashing into a tram or killing a cyclist as I drove around the city centre, but in terms of traffic it was a breeze. Lots of nice bars and good food about - the sort of place that'd be good for a long weekend but not a week away.

Yeah.  We stayed at the Nhow hotel or something like that.  A boutiquey type place on the far side of the main bridge from the main town.  It was weird, you could clearly tell they were trying to do the place up and make it trendy but it was mainly a load of nothing.

Oh dear Reg. As much as I admire your reminiscences, your knowledge, your sentimentalism, your enthusiasm for all things Wiltshire. Your ability to connect with the traditions of the local community, your recognition of Swindon as having a traditional working-class base and maybe stubborn refusal to accept anything to the contrary: Well, I think, inadvertently you've just placed yourself within the BNP/UKIP school of thought. It doesn't bother me. But be honest Reg. (PS. I,m not a Tory).
