Former Plymouth midfielder Lilian Nalis and Nigerian left back Yinka Casal impressed the Town boss in last night's 1-1 draw with Cardiff City, with Malpas looking to sign both up within the next 48 hours.
Nalis, 36, is currently considering the personal terms offered by the club last night but Casal's situation could be more complicated with a deal also needing to be thrashed out with his Dutch employers Cambuur.

The second-tier side turned down a 80,000 Euros bid for the 20-year-old from Hungarian outfit Debrecini in February, claiming they would not let him go for less than 100,000 Euros.
Malpas though will hope chairman Andrew Fitton can negotiate successfully with Cambuur, with Casal already revealing he is desperate for a switch to Wiltshire.
The Town boss is looking to make it a triple swoop by the end of the week as he closes in on a Championship winger who can play on either flank and in attack.
The player spent last season on loan at a couple of clubs in League One and is thought to be available on a free transfer.
Lee Peacock scored his first goal of the pre-season last night, as he continued his injury comeback, as Town held a weakened Cardiff outfit.
