I CANNOT  BELIEVE THIS !!   gurney was the WORST player at this club along with hewlett!!!  i really dont like this fucking guy, sorry to gurney fans but from what i've seen....
a) he wont give us 'bite' in midfield, he will give us plain thuggery and bookings!
b)he cant even play in fucking midfield!!!!

Who's he going to take the place of then because he is not better than anyone that is already here.  my god, sorry for that outburst,       i did not know i was capable of that. you never know, he might be good this time around

Becuase we have Heath now and Summerbee's wage demands probally didn't warrant his ability.

......but Heath isnt even our player....and we need Gurney because?

Because Gurney has real bite and anger, exactly what we need in midfield.

Thats great, but gurney is NOT A FUCKING MIDFIELDER!!!

and Gurney's shite, couldn't get into Swansea's team last season so we've signed him? King's losing the plot.

Mind you, I've had no official text from the club, nothing on the website... anyone got a source?

Radio Swindon copy:

Swindon Town are expecting to complete the loan signing of former defender Andy Gurney until the end of December.

The 31 year old played 145 times for the club before joining Swansea almost a year ago.

Since then he's fallen out of favour at the Welsh side, who'll pay part of his wages while he's at the County Ground.

Manager Andy King has brought him in as defensive cover after losing assistant manager Alan Reeves with a broken leg.

Gurney certainly didn't expect a return to Swindon so soon after leaving.

I'll add my twopenneth ...

Gurney .. someone said 'free kick specialist'. No he's not. He scored one wonderful goal at Elland Road, and then spent the rest of the season thinking he was David Beckham and took -- and WASTED -- the majority of the freekicks.

He's got a big gob - too big - and ALWAYS gets booked.  It's almost as if, some games, he'll get to 89 minutes and realise he's not got a yellow and go and kick someone to relieve himself.

I'm not happy about this. I'd much rather have had buzzer than this dick ... or someone who's a central defender who will provide more competition and cover.

This is wrong, wrong, wrong.

(he'll probably score on Saturday now)

The point here is that we are getting a player that can do a job, and as with ManUre and their two another club is paying a chunk of their wage.....we could have had Holmes but can't afford him as Derby wont pay.

Gurney is not a midfielder, but he is a battler....and in my opinion we're likely to be in  a relegation battle this season.

Me too.

Sorry, Reg - I just can't agree. I was glad to see the back of David Gurney (sic) ... this is a step in the wrong direction.

If hes been signed as a midfielder then this is just sick.

Rated him as a right back, but he lost the plot in the last 6 months he was here and seemed to have no focus for the game at all.

How much better did we look with Summerbee rather than Heath? That manc cunt is on one big training session with us.

Not good.

I dont know whether to laugh or cry. However, I've only seen him play once or twice, so I will reserve judgement for a while.

  How have you only seem him play 'once or twice'?

The bloke played about 3 seasons in a row for us!!!!!!!!!!! Sort yourself out boy, your embaressing yourself.

Have only really become a regular in the last few years. As my grandad is the only person in my family that has any interest in football (supports Notts County), and all my friends support premiership teams I would have only got to a couple of games a season during Gurney's time here. 'One or two' may have been a slight underestimate, but cant be far out.

Dear oh dear.  If he has been signed as a midfielder, we might as well kiss goodbye to any sort of football we were starting to try and play.  3 seasons of misplaced 60 yard balls was enogh for me, not to mention the bookings and long range 'attempts'.

The only way i will even slightly be happier with this signing is if he plays right back and Collins takes Ifil's place.  Which won't happen.

What the hell is going on?
