They are in a transition period at the moment, several fans on their forums questioning why he would leave Pox for them, other than the fact he is still based in Liverpool.
It says in the Blackpool article that he's based in Milton Keynes, but is keen to relocate to the North West

It won't be long before they turn their attention to Wellens so hopefully Robinson goes there.
Surprised he wasn’t the first name on their list / linked

He came out virtually straight away and said he wasn’t interested in the Blackpool job.

Believe there is some ill feeling between Wellens and Blackpool and vice versa so don’t think we need to worry.

i think to match Wellens ambition there are only a handful of clubs he would risk going to in the league above. Im thinking Sunderland, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Ipswich, Doncaster, Rotherham. Places which have ambition to climb back to where they have been previously and have the grounds and attendances to allow investment.
Hopefully not worth thinking about as he has complete control over this project, a fan base that will come back with success and a chairman who invests in the right players with the same target to get to the championship.

I have a sneaky hunch he'll one day manage Leicester. Theory: Gets us into the Championship (not next season but the Season after). Leicester depart with Brendan Rogers, after a couple of seasons of mediocrity leaving Leicester around 15th. Manager on the way down, replaced by manager on the way up.
A lot can happen of course and he may take a year managing someone like Rotherham in the Champ for a season (but he'd be just as well as staying with us for a crack at keeping us there), before taking reigns at a Prem side.

Nah Leicester will stay where they are, they wouldn't follow Rogers

Whilst I expect a few have had a chuckle at Bamboos post above, it is worth pointing out that PDC got a Prem gig off the back of a League 2 title and a superb half season in League 1...stranger things have happened.

Indeed and there are several other examples of quicker rises (oo-er). My projection even bases Wellens having at least 2 seasons in L1 with Town and potentially a season in the Champ with us. Add that together and he'll have had 4.5 seasons with us. If his rise continues with Town, he'll attract serious interest. His rise will be fairly organic and not as rushed as it looks. If we manage to get 3.5 or 4.5 seasons out of Wellens it would likely mean he'd be leaving us in a good place. We'd be an attractive proposition too - for a new manager and likely new/more investment.

We were also an attractive proposition when PDC left and ended up with Kevin McDonald and Mark Fucking Cooper :;

Paul Ince did it just off the title. PDC and Ince are bigger names though and that does make a difference. I don’t think any champ or prem fans could name our manager.

We weren't though, anyone in business with genuine intentions would know, despite our league position, our main investor had pulled the plug and we were enforced to sell our assets at reduced cost. It's why we ended up with the "Roaring Cunt". It was an attractive prop for chancers and gamblers with no money. In fairness, Cooper did a decent job initially but it turned sour when his true management (or lack of) colours showed through. In some respects, despite his critics and a backward step. We're lucky to have Power. Sometimes you have to go backwards to spring forward. Time will tell. This "era" feels right though.

To be fair, I’m surprised we even attracted McDonald and Cooper given the ‘dream team’ we had at the helm!
