I'm going to Seville for 6 days in September followed by week in Cadiz.
Anyone been that can suggest things to see or places to visit?
We're staying in Puerto Santa Maria just near the beach in Cadiz.
Any help or abuse would be welcomed
Unfortunately I haven't really travelled along Western Spain but one of my sisters, her friend lives in Seville. Speaking to her, she absolutely loves the place and kept going on about the Alcazar and urged me to visit, also she said the Tapas in Seville is awesome. She must like boats too, so if you like anything to do with ships then go to Reales Atrazonas (think that's right). Oh and she said mentioned Cordoba is pretty decent to visit too.
I've heard great things about Cadiz but haven't been. I imagine it to be similar to San Sebastian, except a fair bit warmer. I know that won't help.
As a side note, when in Seville take a short trip to Mérida. Depending what stuff you like but there is this really awesome imposing aqueduct (Milagros), you can't miss it! It's not quite as impressive as the one in Segovia (just northwest of Madrid), as that cuts straight through the centre of the place, but impressive nonetheless. When I visit Spain again I'll be looking to do a Northwest (A Coruna) - Southwest (Seville) route.
Tell me what you enjoyed when you get back. Enjoy
