"The new home and away strip will feature the words '125th Anniversary 1881 - 2006' above the clubs crest, which will be centrally placed above the logo  of the clubs main sponsor - Nationwide"

This one comes up time and time again.

But as we celebrated the 100th anniversary in 1981 it makes sense for the club to stick to that date.

We played Ipswich that year who'd just won the UEFA Cup in a celebration/friendly match, maybe we should get them back for a home friendly if we have any this pre-season.

And they gave us a china model of a Suffolk Punch, a sort of shire horse.

Subsequent boards have used it as a template for centre halves....this board broke the mould when Benji signed.

i'm more worried about if there will be a 126th, and a 127th, and a 128th, etc...

I have kept up you plank!!!

96 is after 81....

So we were 100 years old in 1981
Yet we were 117 years old in 96
Now in 2006 we are 125 years old??

Hello all.... my first post!

I won't bore you with the details, but there is pretty good evidence to suggest that STFC were formed in the autumn of 1879.

You can read about some of it here...

Hello mr website address.

To be honest I'm not bothered about the historical details, the club could probably do with something to celebrate. Who cares if it's the 125th or 127th,  but an excuse to celebrate the club's history would be nice anyway.

Of course it does bring back vague memories of my first year at uni, when I think that exeter got relegated to the conference in their centinary year. pretty harsh.
