With all the talk of our stay away fans, I wondered just how many had deserted us through the season.
I know that the stay away season ticket holders still get counted, but in fairness they did last season too, so it's a valid comparison.
So anyway, the average this season was 6,380, which was 646 down on last season.
However, the number of away fans (albeit with a few estimates), was down just under 200 on average, which means we have lost about 450 home fans per game.
Now it doesn't help when you are shite at home, which we were for much of the first half of the season, but will be interesting to see how that compares next year

I think that’s a terrific average when you take into account the absolute dog shit served up at the CG. The league itself is northern biased so the drop off in away fans isn’t surprising - especially, IMO, as we never really looked like we’d nail even a play off place. The belief wasn’t really there.
Get a winning team playing decent football and I’d expect that average to be 1000 up over a season.

really surprised at how well attendances have held up
can't last forever if we stay in div 4, but next season is going to be interesting.

If tickets were about £15 I'd come back for a few.

Let's imagine that a few means 3..... then that's £45. You could just do 2 in the TE for that and still have enough for chips before or after.

Not bad considering the utter dross on display. The next manager needs to liven things up a bit, though.

Yes. The presence of Chesterfield in the top 7, shows that crowds mean nothing if the running of the club is malfunctioning. We cannot afford the complacency, which currently infects the club.

I went to more games this season than last season, but I usually get my tickets for a tenner from a friend who works at Nationwide. It will drop more next season I imagine, but I'll attend the first few home games as usual (until the depression kicks in!)

It was my lowest ever attendance this season. Went to 7 home games. I enjoy passing football so this season was particularly painful.
