My front drive is tarmacced but breaking up. Got it done cheaply about 15 years ago and some of the tarmac is over concrete. Probably need it doing properly now. Any recommendations. I'll need a bit of grass digging up and hardcore put down, the rest should have hardcore down already. Open to whether block paving or just shingle. Not tarmac though.

Block paving is far far better,  more expensive though,  had ours done 10 years ago,  does need a scraping between the joints every year or two and  a clean off with a pressure washer but when I see neighbours continually having to sweep stray shingle back onto their drives and keep re spreading it I think to myself  - glad I paid the extra and got a proper job done in the first place.
Just make sure you use a reputable company,, not a doorknocker, preferably someone recommended by a friend who has already used them, need a good base, well tamped, good level of sharp sand and whole lot tamped again when blocks have been laid. .

Anyone used down to earth. Hearing good things about them. Five star not so good I hear. Anyone else.

I'll ask my husband who's decent and who to avoid.  This is what he used to do when he had his own business, but it got too competitive and wasn't making enough money.

Got in touch with a few people but getting someone out to quote appears to be a task that is beyond me. GK Olley Groundwork turned up on time and quoted when they said they would. One other quoted a price that would imply it would be pathed in gold. Has anyone had any work done by these guys?

Does Mark know anyone that is reputable!!. I did ask, he didn't know anyone he'd recommend. He's off now until September. I didn't think this would be so difficult. Going to try a couple more and see if anyone turns up to quote.

Need to get some quotes to do a couple of patio.areas in the back garden.
One is a straight forward rectangle approx 30 m2 the other area is an L shape approximately 100m2 which will need some borders and features.

Got my driveway block paved by pete1278. Had to wait for him to do it which is a good sign as he had other work lined up. Despite the weather and it being on a busy road he did a cracking job. Absolutely first class.
Top job, top bloke. Always prefer to give my money to a Town fan.
Would recommend him to anyone on here who was thinking of having their drive or patio done. Thank you Pete.
