You could find out his name fairly easily too with a bit of detective work. I won't tell you though I'm not a grass.

SY - damn right, agree with those sentiments entirely!  Was your neighbour hacked off?  I'm surprised he didn't smack you one for driving off!  You were lucky he didn't report you or something, although he didn't for a few reasons probably:

- no way of proving it
- insurance companies being screwing bastards

I always saw you as too sensible to have a car accident, lame and minor as this sort of accident is!

In my defence, I did stop and look but it was dark, raining and cold and I was late for work. I had a look when I got home as well and couldn't see anything. He wouldn't smack me anyway, I beat him up once

I guess that is the best way to deal with it if you do have an accident as insurance companies will just jack up your premiums which, at our age, would be disasterous.
