Just watched Supersonic, the Oasis documentary on iPlayer. Nothing groundbreaking there, but a good watch for a fan

Watched the latest Mad Max over Christmas. It is the strangest film i have watched in a long time. Enjoyed it though.

Molly's Game the other night, thought it was very good, it's a Sorkin script so lots of talking very quickly but Chastain & Elba are very good. Tobey Maguire doesn't come out of it well, despite not officially being in it.
Will watch Three Billboards in the week - expectations very high there

I’ve seen both The Post and Darkest Hour this week.
Little underwhelmed by both but in saying that Oldman is sensentional as Churchill

Would agree re Darkest Hour, Oldman was cracking, but it was a little 'simplistic'.

Both films are excellent, Darkest hour is very good, Gary Oldman is excellent as Churchill, Ben Mendleshon was also brilliant as King George

Watched Now you seem me 1 and 2 over the weekend.
Really enjoyed both of them although the second one was not as good as the first. Jesse Eisenberg is bloody annoying though

Watched "Winchester" yesterday with Helen Mirren as the widow of the gun manufacturer William Winchester and is haunted by the spirits of the dead that were killed by their guns.
A strange film based on fact but fairly enjoyable to watch, worth a go if you like horror.

Was that on Sky/Netflix/Amazon or A.N Other? I found myself watching iLL Manors on BBC last night (this morning). Was expecting a Kidulthood/Adulthood type film but this was much more raw and honest (pretty uncomfortable at times). Showing the gritty side to life in the underground British Urban crime/gang scene. None of it is truly organised other than playing at it and is reaction done on impulse and emotion. It follows six character plots that are all interlinked and eventually come to a head with the main two. Less violently acted but kudos to Riz Ahmed who plays the believable Aaron (a guy orphaned at birth, trying to escape the life he's grown up in) and Ryan De La Cruz playing Jake (a boy who suffers the consequences of peer pressure in a tense environment), both are much less hammy than some of the other characters. Also a nice cameo from John Cooper Clarke. Some of the rap/written word narration is a bit annoying with overkill but all in all, it's not a terrible first feature from Plan B. It wasn't until I looked that it's about six years since it's release. Still, decent little British film and a snip at £100k.
