Brought a new printer and trying to connect it to the laptop but the stupid cunt keeps coming up with the message ...
Error 1722: Failed to add port monitor HP Discovery Port Monitor (HP Deskjet 3520 Series). The windows print spooler service could not be started and must be running in order for the installation to succeed. Please start the service and click retry to continue installation ..
What is the first bit on about? And whats this print spooler service?

Click the windows button, in the search box type services
Top of the search results should be 'Services' with an icon which looks like a cog - click on that program.
Next scroll down the list to 'Print Spooler' - right click on it and select properties. Change the startup type to automatic and click apply. May need to click on the start button after that.

Uninstalled everything and follow the instructions to the letter especially when to connect the usb lead. Also try a different usb port.

Hi Folks
Just looking for a new Wire less All in one printer for home. Anyone got any pointers for good reliable models or at least some good review sites.
Cheers

Thanks FCB. Out of interest, do you have any trouble with the paper feed as the reviews suggest.

HP 6500a
I think there are different flavours of the same model I have to. One my own which worked fine with the pc, then my company provided me with the "same" model when they gave me an iPad. The company one will not work with the PCM or laptop and vice versa. I just use the company one now. Good printer no problems with it.
