I think Tans offer of half time entertainment would have been better than that.

Questions need to be asked of Cooper as this style of play has been sussed for quite a while and yet we repeat the pattern game after game.

If "sources"* are correct the style is dictated from above. This isn't a dig, or meant in any way negatively, just what has been said.

* by sources I mean I can't remember which of the misbegotten written journalists suggested such.
------------------------------------------
In any case Cooper was spot on in his post match analysis - too ploddy, backwards, sideways, poor passing and gave the ball way too cheaply.

For me there was no shape, no clue in midfield. Ajose and Ojaaama looked unfit, Treore mostly dissapeared up his own ass and Rodgers was Rodgers. Louis did OK at times. When its that shit in midfield its no wonder the defenders don't know where to pass it except back to the keeper.

Up front Thomas looked lively but was starved of service and looked like he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo when chances did present (I don't think this is a permanent state, just looked like that today).

Humph.

I think we should focus on the positives. Sadly today there was none, apart from the comedy award of Turnbull as MOTM I guess!

Crowds are going to dwindle if we continue to play like that at home.

Just thought of another positive, can't make the game next week!

Agree that Cooper was fairly spot on in his post match interview, but he (or someone in charge) needs to take some responsibility as well.  There were players today who looked unfit and others who were being played out of position.

He said about Burton "we knew how they were going to be set up/play and they did it very well".  If that's the case, why weren't we set up to combat it?  Everytime we come up against a team that is direct, we can't deal with it.  Why has nothing been learned?

Also, can we get in some practice of corners and movement at throw ins.  Today's efforts were utterly pathetic.

As far as personnel, Robert has to play - the only player with any flair. Rodgers has had a decent run but his first instinct is always back or sideways.

We need to play a specialist LB - Brophy or Barry. Turnbull back to CB, with Branco.

If that means Williams is on the bench or goes back to Liverpool, so be it.

I wonder if 4 at the back has been favoured just to fit certain players in.

Williams was dreadful. Don't play him at CB please Coops. What the hell has happened to BOO? We are told he is back every week only for him to not make the 16. Why on earth Turnball plays at LB? If Brophy isn't goof enough why sign him? Really annoyed with today's performance. I can accept losing but that was the worst we have played for 3 years or certainly at least since Cooper tool over. Massive work needed at Calne this week.

Im not a fan of ajose playing out wide, he is a poacher and needs to be in/around the 6 yard box. He's anonymous out wide

I thought he did OK myself. Oh well..

I thought Boo has been injured, oh Onion one? If he's not back, I assume he's not fit enough. Not a massive fan of his defending thus far anyway.

Someone who has lots of loan players. I personally think we pay more of their wages if they don't pay - based on nothing whatsoever other than Power has said (albeit last season) that we don't *have* to play them contractually. My reason is the only other one I can think of that makes much sense.

Panic buy just before we snared Thomas and Ajose is my guess.

edit: Oh wait, I got my Balmy and Brophy mixed up. Good question then.

What frustrates me is we seem to have set idea on how it will be played - and that's how we play - even if it doesn't work. For example, how many fucking times do we need to be closed down from short goal kicks to work out the opposition have it sussed FFS -

On a completely unrelated note to today's game, does anyone know if Chalkies Shorts is ok?  I don't think he's posted this season at all?

Flipped a coin between this and Newbury today. First game of the season. Probably saved myself a few quid.

I think that may be the final nail in my football watching coffin, to be honest.

Cooper questioned on Turnball at left back, "we had a number of loan players that we needed to get in the team". Hmmmm

That sentence could be the undoing of our season.
