Haha Didn't last long. God forbid if he got the job here
He'd have had better resources here so who knows how he might have done...

I don't think you can judge Hamann's Stockport career on how it could've gone at Swindon or any other club.

He had pretty good resources for a BSP club, signed McConville on decent money and tried signing Ryan Lowe. Think its just a really hard league to manage and takes alot of experience to manage, in a league like league 1 he may of done a mcuh better job.

McConville was a free transfer before the failed takeover. There's plenty of clubs who can offer higher wages than poor Accrington Stanley.
Stockport is rife players people many would have heard off but are in-truth quite mediocre.
Hamann probably had assistance similar to what Di Canio received when he first arrived at Town. Fortunately, it's working out better for us at the moment.

I have to admit I was one of the fans that wanted him to come to us before he went to the Cobblers, glad he didnt really though as i am pleased with how PdC is doing.

I wanted Johnson in after Wilson, no doubt about it.
He wouldnt have done worse than Paul fucking Hart, would he?

Likewise, very happy to have been proved wrong so far!

I was on the Johnson band wagon after Wilson left, still think he could have done a decent job here and maybe kept us up.
Having a shocker at Northampton doesnt mean he wouldn't have done well here.

Whereas I am firmly in the told you so camp, never wanted him here.
I guess it was largely due to the fact that most, if not all, of the Peterborough fans couldn't wait to get rid of him, and to be fair they have done much better since he left.

I was always a bit undecided about Johnson, I always thought that if he came here he would start off ok then turn all 'McMahon' on us.... falling out with players/fans/media etc.
My Slavetrader mate hated him with an absolute passion, apparently he would heave every time he heard his 'weasely' little voice....

Always wanted him,the open day confirmed it for me...he was brilliant. The win at Bristol showed me what could be in store. I hope he is here for a long time and if we get promoted that will be down to the directors and there ambition. Poyet has shown at Brighton that being backed can reap dividends.
Sad thing is he is going to be hot property soon for any club willing to give him a chance...sad for us that is.

Must admit I was in the Hammann camp. Thought he would do a good job, a Paolo without the tattoos and fascism.
Still think he'll do ok, if he was given the backing Paolo has been given then we would have done ok. Well probably see him again.

So who is up for the chop next?
I know PL clubs don't take the League Cup too seriously but Blackburn losing away at Cardiff and Chelsea losing at home to Liverpool won't help their managers chances of staying in jobs much.
I reckon going out of the CL and a continued poor run of form in the PL will see Villas-Boas gone come the end of the year. If he does go he will have cost Chelsea £35m for six months. Bargain.
