Just have some old memory of it being some sort of payment processing, or cheques or something like that, hence why you can;t find anything much online about it. I could be very wrong.

The dog has been poorly for a couple of days and overnight he developed a huge lump in his jaw line with blood coming out his mouth.
Took him to the vets and the poor sod had been bitten by a snake. Poison may have affected his kidneys. On a drip at the moment. Hope the fella is OK.
Strange thing is, a stray cat that has adopted us we took to the vet a couple of days ago had also been bitten but only had a small lump on its neck and was fine after the vet lanced it.
Luck of the draw I suppose.

What are the vets costs abroad? Yesterday, I had to pay £14 for quite literally a piece of paper (a prescription).

The cat she treated for the snake bite, he had a runny eye - which was only a grass seed - and we had him neutered.
All for €60.

My Shar Pei was killed by a snake, poor girl. She probably only wanted to make friends with it.

I would imagine that snakes in your neck of the woods are a little more potent than in Europe, do they get anything beyond the standard Adder in Greece? Saw one in Italy, was a monster compared to the ones we get over here!

Cobras are quite common. We had a baby one knocking about in the hallway outside our apartment a while back. There's also vipers, but they tend to be out in the sticks. Pythons are also common, although they're not venomous. All sorts, basically. One of the biggest fears is centipedes. They're venomous, bitey, and they sometimes like to come up through the plug hole.
