Title: Strange washing machine neighbours
Post by: horlock07 on Monday, October 6, 2014, 18:23:22
This may seem a strange one but bear with me....

The house next door to us is rented (we are in a terrace) and we have new tenants moved in.

We haven't seen them (even after two months) but think it's a guy on his own... but they are no bother.... which is a relief.

However the strange thing is the washing machine is going every night,  yet there is never any washing out so what's going on, can you do anything suspicious or dodgy with a washing machine?

Cleaning bloody clothing or maybe the lady of the house sits on it for her jollies

Perhaps a new fangled washer dryer?....

Nightworker who starts it off before he goes to work, and just uses a tumble dryer. I'll put the invoice in the post.

Helpfully Tapatalk lets me create a topic, then will not let me comment in said topic!

Thanks for the suggestions, I am pretty sure it isn't aliens as I don's see why they would need a washing machine, its not as if they wear clothes.

There doesn't seem to be a lady living there, although if she is using it as a 'pleaser' I can understand why we may not have seen her as she will be exhausted all the time!

Guy is there stomping up and down stairs in evening and is not their during the day so that rules nightworker out.

I will continue to investigate.....

The washing machine is on timed wash, which happens at night because it is cheaper.

If you think it's a guy on his own, why do you keep referring to him in the plural?

I never put washing on a line when I'm at work because if it rains it's a waste of time. I also tend to do my washing overnight, mainly because it's a hassle to sort it out before going to work and I have to leave the house at 7:15am.

I'm not your neighbour though.

It's not DMR putting his t-shirts through the wash?

Funnily enough I saw that bird in the Goddards about 3 weekends ago. I think she pretended not to recognise me (understandable).

Ok an update...

We accepted a parcel for the guy this weekend which gave me the opportunity to learn his name and do a little Internet stalking.

Turns out he is a Russian Professor of Partical Physics up at the university so I assume the noise may have been some manner of experiment... It's been quiet for a few weeks now anyway.

Probably best to check your insurance policies then.

I've strained my ankle, does that mean I need to put it into a Higgs Boson machine?
