sigh
almost - but 0-0 away, on a Tuesday, against Sunderland... always a big ask
frustrating, because Sunderland weren't brilliant. even though they controlled the game comfortably.

dont think there would have been any complaints from sunderland if we had scored. that was a tough finish. a so called free hit but for all of the possession they didnt do much to win that.
a few good results below us. got the hard fixture out of the way at least.

Broadbent lost his man for the goal so doubt even he would accept MOM
He was blocked off every time if you take a look again very clever of them !!

If you watch the game back and they substitute Sunderland for a semi competent League Two team playing away at a plucky non-league team in the FA Cup on a shoddy pitch, you'll probably see that game in a better light.
Two pretty dire teams on a dire pitch serving up dire entertainment.
As a Swindon fan, if you simply looked for the result after the game you'd sort of be OK with it. The season won't be broken by this result.
Sunderland were always going to win it, Twine offered moments of hope for the plucky underdogs, but the writing was always on the wall. Sunderland certainly added to the shitness on display mind.
Can this season just hurry up an be over with us sat above a dotted line.
Given where we are - good effort, did well in defence, mostly shit with the ball, nobody thought we'd get a result, so move on.

Fuck. Not too upset about that though. I’d never have said this a month ago, but we were a L1 team tonight. Under the cosh at times, but centre defence very good, good shape, players doing their jobs. That was more reassuring than shaky wins like Crewe or Wigan. I begin to think we might be ok.

best team we've faced. skillful players able to play pass and move better than we did.
I thought we played well to be honest. Certainly looking less likely to concede.
Lacking still in firepower but that comes from chances created from the middle...and to me that is providing no creativity. I hope that Grant can come back and play like he did last year as that will breed confidence. I'd also look to put Caddis on for a half in the middle as he loves to get crosses in, which we seem unable to do with any pace. Payne looked lightweight tonight, tried hard but did nothing.
Swindon MoM for me was Broadbent. Looked assured and strong.
